Despite the panic amongst the students regarding the news report for the leak of Class 12th Economics Paper, the exam was concluded successfully by CBSE. The exam was held on March 26, 2018, from 10:30 AM to 01:30 PM.
The students concluded that the paper was of average difficulty level. Many students and parents were disappointed after there were reports of the paper leak. However, CBSE authorities clearly brushed away the rumors by stating that “We have checked with all examination centers and the paper was not leaked. The source of the circulation of this information is not known yet. We want to urge the students and parents to not panic and assure them that the board is doing its best to ensure the sanctity of the examination”.
For past few years, it has been observed that the students have been performing badly in Economics paper and hence this year, CBSE introduced a practical component to Economics paper from this year. 20 marks have been allocated for practical component and 80 for the theoretical component.
Also, there was quite a change in the exam pattern also, The Economics paper had 24 questions and the paper was divided into two parts – macroeconomics and microeconomics. Each section had 12 questions.
Majority of students coming out of the examination center said that the paper was very easy and there was nothing out of the CBSE prescribed syllabus. The teachers also agreed with the students and commented that the paper was very easy and direct from the NCERT. The easiest paper of the past five years as the questions were direct and straightforward from textbooks only. Numerical were also direct from the book. Not even a single question was tricky.
Considering previous year trends, it can be expected that this year, the students are going to surprise with some really good results. CBSE 12th result 2018 will be announced in May. With the reactions of the students and teachers, they seem to be in surprise that the exam paper was perfect, with no tricky questions, not at all lengthy and completely from NCERT.
