The Indian Institutes of Management have now opened the CAT 2020 application form correction window at iimcat.ac.in. Candidates who have registered for the Common Admission Test can go to the website, login, and edit their form. This window shall remain available until September 29, 2020, 5 PM.
In order to access the form correction window, one has to go to the official website of CAT 2020 i.e. iimcat.ac.in. Then click the login button. The direct link to login is https://cdn.digialm.com/EForms/configuredHtml/756/66504/login.html.
Thereafter, enter user id, password, and login. Login requires user id as well as password. Those who have forgotten either of these two can click the link “forgot user id / password” on the login page to get them. Upon landing on the forgot user id / password form, one has to enter their email address. Doing so, helps them get the forgotten login credentials.
Upon logging in, one can edit 3 details in the form. They are namely (1) photograph, (2) signature, and (3) test city preferences.
Last year candidates were allowed to only edit their photograph and signature. This time, the facility to edit test city preferences has also been given. The exam will be held in 156 cities in India. Candidates can select cities in order of their preference.
It is recommended that candidates refer their MBA entrance exams 2020 / 2021 calendar and see where they will be at the time of CAT exam. It is possible that they have other exams around the same time. Cities should be opted in such a way that one can easily travel to those cities if required.
One month after the closure of form correction window, i.e. on October 28, 2020, IIMs will release the CAT exam 2020 admit card. The same will remain available for download until the exam date i.e. November 29, 2020.
CAT exam is scheduled to be held in 3 sessions on the same day. This year IIMs have changed the exam pattern of CAT exam. The exam will now be of 2 hours duration, where candidates will get exactly 40 minutes to answer each section. Section 1, 2, 3, shall respectively be VARC, DILR, QA.
Lowest registrations in 4 years
A reported number of 2.3 lakh candidates have registered for CAT 2020 exam. Last year i.e. for CAT 2019, the number of applicants were 2,44,169. Prior to that in the years 2018, 2017, 2016, the registration numbers were respectively 2.41 lakh, 2.31 lakh, and 2.32 lakh. However in the year 2015 only 2.19 lakh had applied.
Nevertheless IIMs are not worried about the number of applicants. There has understandably been an overall dip in entrance exam applicants in other national level exams as well due to the pandemic.
