How to prepare for CAT in 01 Month?

There has been only a less than one month left for the CAT 2018 Examination. So, this is the high time to harness your strengths and practice as much mocks as possible. In the last month do not let self-doubt dampen your performance. Utilizing the last month judiciously will definitely help to get good percentile in the exam.

Working smartly on the strengths will help to crack the exam very much. For this, solve questions from the topics that are familiar and do not waste time learning new topics. Moreover, build the basics strong, and after that learn short tricks, formulas, shortcut to save time in the exam. Importantly, prepare popular topics that often appear in exam like Number System, Permutation & Combination, Probability etc. Candidates can also refer CAT previous year question papers to check the important topics for the exam.

Next, one of the important things for the better preparation of the exam is Mocks. Giving full-length mocks not only helps to know the exam pattern but also helps candidates to modify the test-taking strategy according to the difficulty level of the exam. Taking high-quality mock test give exposure to the variety of questions that can appear in the examination. Especially, in entrance exams like CAT in which exam pattern is not fixed.

Taking three to five mocks in a week will be enough for the preparation, given that candidates are analyzing it thoroughly. Mocks also help the students to know their weak and strong areas. Solving mock papers definitely plays a fundamental role in getting the good scores in the exam.

Recently, IIM Calcutta has released the CAT Official Mock Test for the year 2018. Candidates can take the test to get familiar with the exam pattern. Peculiar to this year, two mock test links have been released. The second link is specially designed for candidates who belong to PWD category having a low vision.

Last but not least, do not lose confidence. In the exam, do not get rigid to solve a particular solution. If a question is taking so much time then skip it and move forward to another problem. In the end, the number of correct attempts will matter hence always target to maximize the attempts while keeping the accuracy of at least 90%.

From the team Aglasem, All the Best.
