IIM Kozhikode has released all the details for Common Admission Test-2019. The official website for the exam, iimcat.ac.in, along with the information brochure was made live around 3:15 pm. CAT 2019 aspirants will appear for the exam on November 24 and the online registration begins on August 07, 2019. Here, are 7 important things that the aspirants of CAT 2019 should know about the exam.
#1. To apply for CAT, one must fulfill the eligibility criteria. There is no age registration in the exam, however, aspirants should have done graduation from a recognized institute, with minimum of 50% marks. For SC / ST / PwD candidates, minimum required marks are 45%. Candidates in final year may also apply for the exam.
#2. All the dates for CAT are now available. Exam date is November 24, registration is open from until September 18, issuance of admit card begins from October 23, and the result is expected to be available by the 2nd week of January 2019.
#3. The exam will be held in 156 cities, across the nation, in two sessions. The centers will be in most of metro cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc. During registration, candidates can submit 4 choices for the test city. Once all the registration ends, IIM-K will allocate the center and session to the candidates.
#4. Candidates should submit the choices for the centers in the order of priority because IIM will try to assign the first priority of center to the candidates. If the seats in centers is not available then less priority choices will be assigned.
#5. Before the release of the notification, there were rumors that the application fee will increase their year. However, the application fee is the same as last year. It is Rs. 1900 but the candidates belonging for SC / ST / PwD candidates is Rs. 950.
#6. Most of the CAT applications are rejected because of incorrectly uploaded photograph and signature. To upload the photo and signature correctly, candidates have to scan photograph in 30 mm x 45 mm and of signature is 80 mm x 35 mm dimension. The size of the image should be 80 kb, .jpg or .jpeg format. The minimum resolution should be 150 px.
#7. CAT 2019 score is only valid for 1 year, until December 31, 2020. When candidates register for CAT, they naturally register for all the IIMs as well. However, to get admission in other B-Schools, the candidates will have to apply individually.
