IIM Calcutta has released the CAT 2018 Response Sheet for the candidates who have appeared for the exam on November 25, 2018. The response sheet is available to download at the official website of CAT 2018. In order to download the response sheet, candidates have to login with registration number and password. Thereafter, click on the “Response Sheet” tab to download the sheet.
The response sheet for CAT 2018 is available in the PDF format containing the candidates’ registration number, student name, test centre name, time slot etc. Along with it important details like question paper, ID, status and the option chosen by the student are available. In the sheet only the response marked by a candidate in the actual exam is present. There are no correct answers have been given.
This is the first time that IIM has released the response sheet of the candidates. With this, test takers could able to cross verify their response with the answer key correctly. When the answer key released last year, there were only correct answers but not the answers marked by candidates. So, downloading the response sheet will help to calculate the raw scores for CAT 2018.
As the response sheet is released quite unexpectedly, candidates can also expect the official answer key to release anytime in upcoming days. Previously, CAT 2018 convener Sumanta Basu said that students would receive the intimation regarding CAT answer key soon. Though there is no official announcement for CAT 2018 answer key, still it is highly expected that answer will release following the previous year trend.
The official answer key will contain the answers to all the questions. If there will be an error in the official key, candidates will able to challenge the same by paying the appropriate amount. After the proper analysis of the challenges, IIM will make the changes and refund the amount for the valid doubts.
With the release of CAT 2018 response sheet, unofficial sources may also release the answer key soon.
CAT 2018 result will release in the second week of January 2019. It will contain sectional and overall scaled scores and percentile. IIM releases the scaled score after the normalization process. The process is not available on the official website but it is similar to the process followed in exams like GATE. Once the result is out, IIMs will start releasing the list of the students selected for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview round. Various IIMs has already released the admission criteria on their official websites.
