Border Security Force (BSF) has released the admit card for Head Constable (HC) RO/RM OMR based written exam. The exam is scheduled be held on September 22, 2019. Initially the exam was supposed to be held on July 28, 2019. Candidates who have applied for the exam can download their admit cards at the official website of BSF, bsf.nic.in, and rectt.bsf.gov.in.
To download the BSF admit card, candidates have to visit bsf.nic.in and click on link in yellow color that says “Online Recruitment HC / RO RM”. It will get redirected to the recruitment portal of BSF, rectt.bsf.gov.in. Candidates have to scroll down to the download admit card section. Then they have to enter their registration number, password and captcha code. The admit card will appear in a pdf format on the screen. Download and print a copy of the admit card and carry it on the exam day.
Seemingly due to heavy traffic on the website, a number of candidates have reported that the website rectt.bsf.gov.in is not loading immediately. However the pages load after refreshing a few times. The admit card was released yesterday and immediately thereafter most candidates were able to login and download their hall tickets.
On the next Sunday, BSF shall hold the MCQ type written exam of 3 hours duration. It will contain questions from physics, chemistry, mathematics, english and general knowledge. These sections will respectively be of 80, 40, 40, and 40 marks, thereby totalling upto 200 marks. The paper carries negative marking of 0.50 marks for every incorrect answer. For BSF HC Radio Operator (RO) / Radio Mechanic (RM) recruitment 2019, the qualifying marks are 38% for general, OBC, and 33% SC, ST.
Candidates who clear the written exam, will be permitted to appear in the next phase, i.e physical test and documentation (PST / PET). The male candidates have to undergo 1.6 km race in 6.5 minutes, long jump of 3.65 meter, high jump of 1.3 meter. Whereas female candidates have to undergo 800 meters race within 4 minutes, 9 feet long jump, and 3 feet high jump. Ex-servicemen and BSF serving personnel are exempted from PET.
Then there will be verification of original documents of the candidate’s educational certificate, ITI / diploma certificate, age certificate, EWS income and asset certificate, category certificates. It is to be noted that this phase will be qualifying in nature and hence will not carry any marks.
Those who qualifies in physical test and documentation round, will be allowed to attend in the third phase, Descriptive test. The descriptive paper will of 150 marks covering questions from physics, chemistry, maths, logical reasoning and english (12th standard).
After that, there will be a dictation test in english of minimum 100 words, carrying 50 marks, followed by a paragraph reading to test reading and pronunciation of the candidate. 2.5 marks will be deducted for each omission / mistake of single letter and 5 marks will be deducted for each word mistake.
A final merit will be prepared on the marks obtained in the descriptive test. Candidates who qualify all the above test will be put through medical examination to assess their fitness. The medical exam will be carried out by BSF medical board of officers.
BSF Recruitment 2019 for HC RO/RM is for revised number of vacancies that stand at 1,248. 462 will be filled in Head Constable (Radio Operator), and 786 in Head Constable (Radio Mechanic). Candidates on appointment will be offered in a pay scale level 4, i.e., Rs 25,500 to 81,100 (as per 7th CPC).
