The Andhra Pradesh government is also set to conduct the AP Inter exam in August 2021. Amidst the pandemic, the examination has been cancelled earlier. After CBSE decided to cancel the class 12th examination citing the safety measures a lot of state boards decided to follow the footsteps of the centre. As per the official sources, the Education Ministry is also reviewing the Covid situation till July 2021 to reach any final decision regarding the class 10th examinations in the state. The Matric exams have also been suspended earlier that was scheduled from June 7, 2021, to June 16, 2021.
AP Education Minister, Adimulapu Suresh has conveyed the information through a letter that the government is keen to conduct the exams in August 2021. The letter also reads that no definite date has been finalised as of now and the candidates will be intimated regarding the same at least 15 days before. Also, if the exams are conducted within the stipulated time then the board will try to declare the result within 40 days. The AP Inter exams were scheduled from 05 May 2021 to 19 May 2021. The government with the idea of ensuring social distancing norms at the exam centres has extended the number of exam centres to 1452.
Once the news broke, Inter students of Andhra Pradesh started a Twitter protest calling out the government for its decision to conduct an offline Inter exam amidst the global pandemic. However, the government has clarified that cancelling the Inter exam can prove fatal to the career of the candidates who wish to take up admission in good colleges for higher studies or any professional course.
The board has further asked the Centre to not hold IIT JEE and NEET exams pan India such that the Class 12th students get sufficient time to prepare for both the board and the entrance exams simultaneously. As of now, the two sessions of the IIT JEE Mains i.e. IIT JEE Mains April and IIT JEE May still stands postponed citing no dates have been finalised. However, the NEET exam is scheduled for 01 August.
