The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE AP) has developed a new smartphone application to help the Intermediate students and parents find the exam center easily for the annual examinations which are set to take place from May 5 to 19. The application as developed by the board is called “IPE Exam Centre Locator App”. Students can download it from the Google play store on their mobile phones. It helps the students to locate and gives directions to exam centers with the help of the center number. However, hall ticket number can also be used to locate the exam center.
In order to use the app, the students need to download it from the Playstore first. After this, they need to enter their username. Submit the details after which select/enter the destination center details.

Students need to report to the exam center by 8.30 am as no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after 9 AM. Though the board has provided the facility of Exam center locator, however, the app has been given 1.6 stars on the Google Playstore. Students are disappointed with the fact that the state government is conducting the examinations as per the schedule when the whole country is fighting the COVID situation.
One of the students in the review section wrote that “Y government is doing like this with children’s life? The situation is very bad then also they are conducting exams. Who will be responsible if the students get corona? If they are alive they can right any exams at any time but in the present situation, it is a bad decision to conduct exams”.
Another user wrote “Today’s AP positive Cases are 58% of Delhi positive cases. It is a critical situation for all people. We are not asking to cancel the exams. We need exams, but exams should conduct after the pandemic situation, please understand the situation, and postpone exams for days. “

Andhra Pradesh opposition party also filed a PIL against the conduction of the scheduled Class 10 and 12 examinations. The opposition party claimed that around 97 percent of students voted for taking the court’s help while only 3 percent said that there was no need to go to the court. With the release of the AP Inter Hall Tickets 2021, the board made it inevitable that the Intermediate examinations for the 1st and 2nd year will be held as per the schedule.
On the occasion, the minister requested the parents not to go by claims of a few people and their politically motivated statements. He further added that “The students have worked hard all these months, and not conducting exams will be an injustice to them. Hence, keeping their future in mind, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy decided to conduct the exams taking proper care,”.

Invigilators in the isolation rooms will be provided with PPE Kit and if any student is found to have even a marginal symptom of COVID, they will write the exam in the isolation ward. The minister also appealed to the students who are tested positive or are in either home isolation or hospital and will not be able to attend the exam to not worry as the board will conduct special supplementary exams for them later. However, in such a case, students will have to submit a medical certificate.
