An official notice has been released by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi regarding the cancellation of PhD online registrations for the July 2018 session. The registrations submitted for PhD from June 28, 2018 to July 12, 2018 stands cancelled as of now. After the latest news by AIIMS for the PhD registrations, it is to be noted that the registrations for July session stands null and void.
The students after reading this notification will have a number of doubts related to the admission in PhD for instance, when will the new session start, what about the registration fee, whether the registration fee they have submitted has gone down the drain or they will get a refund for that. It is to be noted that with the notice of the cancellation of registration, AIIMS has also certified that students who have registered themselves earlier will get a refund.
Students will get a sense of relief when they will get to know that their registration amount will be refunded into their respective banks through Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card within the one month from the date of the notice.
It has been specified in the official notice that candidates will have to apply again when the registration process starts. The students who have applied earlier will have to apply again. The notice specifying every detail about PhD will be published shortly. It is advised that candidates should visit the official website of AIIMS i.e., http://www.aiimsexams.org regularly to know about the latest updates and modifications.
Now that, candidates have to register afresh it is important to know the eligibility criteria required in order to pursue a PhD degree. Candidates applying for PhD should have a MBBS/ BDS degree with minimum 50% marks or MD/ MS/ MDS / DM/ MCh or Diplomate of NBE. Candidates who possess a M.Sc degree with 50% minimum marks in Nursing can also apply for PhD. Candidates who are not from medical background must have 60% marks in their master’s degree. Candidates who have M.Sc/ M. Tech Degree & BAMS can also apply for PhD degree.
Candidates who belong to non-medical background and have cleared the these examinations such as DST-JRF, DST-SRF, CSIR-SRF, CSIR-JRF, UGC-SRF, UGC-JRF, INSPIRE Fellowship, UGC-JRF, UGC-SRF, Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, GATE, NBHM screening test, ICMR- SRF, DBT-SRF, DBT-JRF will also be considered for admission in PhD.
Now, as the candidates will have to start everything again from the scratch in other words, they will have to register themselves first in order to pursue PhD. After providing their personal, communication and academic details in the application form, they will be required to pay the application fee which is necessary step if they want to sit in the examination. Candidates will have to go through the 7 step application process.
