Indian Air Force is going to conduct the Air Force Common Admission test (AFCAT) 2020 examination on October 3, 4 and 5, 2020. The test shall be conducted through computer-based format in a shift-wise manner on each day. Candidates are asked to complete the entry formalities as well as the verification process at the allotted time before proceeding to the exam hall. The AFCAT 2020 examination shall be conducted on a nation-wide level for candidates to joining the Indian Air Force and become commissioned officers in flying, technical and non-technical aspects.
AFCAT 2020 authorities have issued certain guidelines and COVID-specific Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) that candidates must strictly follow. Social distancing protocols and proper hygiene must be maintained around and within the centre premises. At the time of entry to the registration room, the temperature of candidates shall be recorded with the thermal gun. If their temperature is less than 99.4 degrees Fahrenheit, they can move for the verification process. If their body temperature is greater than 99.4 degrees Fahrenheit they shall be taken to the isolation room. After 15-20 minutes, their temperature shall again be recorded. If normal, these candidates shall be allowed to continue with their verification process. If not, they shall be allowed to give the exam alone in a separate room.
Candidates are instructed to fill the self-declaration form before reaching the examination centre. They are also asked to wash and sanitise their hands before and after using the PC. They are also to wear their face masks at all times. No candidate shall be permitted to leave the centre in the middle of the exam. On completion of a shift, they shall be permitted to leave the centre in an orderly manner. All this is to be done after instructions from the invigilator and concerned authorities. Candidates are also instructed to drop their rough sheets into the dropbox after showing them to the staff member standing next to it. In case any candidate fails to do so, strict action can be taken by the authorities.
Candidates are instructed to carry certain important documents and necessities to the examination centre. Essential documents like the AFCAT 2020 Admit Card, candidate’s Aadhaar Card and any other valid ID proof like PAN Card, passport, Driving License, etc with information like candidate’s name, father’s name and date of birth must be brought to the centre. They must also bring two passport-size coloured photographs, same as the one printed on their admit card. All these documents are mandatory and no entry to the examination hall shall be permitted without them.
AFCAT 2020 aspirants must also bring a blue/black ballpoint pen to sign the attendance sheet and do rough work, a 50ml hand sanitizer and their own transparent water bottle. Candidates are strictly prohibited from bringing any personal belongings, study/textual material, electronic gadgets/devices, alcoholic products and tobacco, eatables, expensive items, etc at the examination centre. AFCAT 2020 exam got postponed due to the COVID19 pandemic and is now scheduled to be conducted in October 2020.
