Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has announced 1522 vacancies for posts of Constable in different categories. SSB has published a detailed recruitment advertisement at the recruitment website ssbrectt.gov.in. Eligible and intending candidates are invited to apply for recruitment to fill up the temporary vacancies advertised by the SSB. The online application process at the aforementioned website has already commenced on August 29, 2020. The last date of submission of online applications is September 27, 2020.
SSB has advertised vacancies for the post of Constable. The detailed vacancy bifurcation is available in the official notification published at the website of the central force. The openings are in the disciplines of Driver (574), Lab Assistant (21), Veterinary (161), Ayah (05), Carpenter (03), Plumber (01), Painter (12), Tailor (12), Cobbler (20), Gardener (09), Male Cook (232), Female Cook (26), Male Washerman (92), Female Washerman (28), Male Barber (75), Female Barber (12), Male Safaiwala (89), Female Safaiwala (28), Male Water Carrier (101), Female Water Carrier (12) and Male Waiter (1). The posts are temporary in nature but are likely to be continued. Candidates can be appointed to serve anywhere in India or abroad. Successful candidates will be appointed at Level 3 in the pay scale of Rs 21700-69100.
Candidates must fulfil the minimum qualifications required to apply for each post. 10th pass candidates with a driving license (Heavy Vehicles) are eligible to apply for the post of Driver. 10th pass candidates with a certificate in Lab Assistant course are eligible to apply for the post of Lab Assistant. Similarly, 10th pass candidates with science as the main subject are eligible to apply for the post of Veterinary. For all the other posts, the minimum educational qualification required is the Class 10th pass. In addition, specialization/experience or additional qualification required to apply for the recruitment is specified against each post. The SSB will issue admit cards to eligible applicants through the official recruitment website as specified here. Candidates have to report to the recruitment centre with the admit card and other documents. Selection of the eligible applicants will be done through Physical Efficiency Test, Physical Standard Test, Documentation and Medical Examination. Male candidates will have to complete a 4.8 km race in 24 minutes while female candidates must complete a race of 2.4 km in 18 minutes. Candidates do not have to appear in the PET for the post of Ayah.
Those who qualify through the PET and PST have to appear on the Common Entrance Test which will be of 100 marks. The paper will consist of 100 MCQ type questions on GK, Mathematics, Reasoning & General English/Hindi. One must secure at least 50% marks to qualify the written exam. Candidates will then appear in documentation and skill test. Merit list of selected candidates who qualify through the documentation and skill test is published as per schedule. Final selection is subject to the Detailed Medical Examination.
Applications for recruitment can only be submitted online at the official website. Eligible candidates must complete the online application form by entering all the important details such as post name, candidate’s name, date of birth and other information. Thereafter, one must upload recent passport size photo and signature. In addition, a fee of Rs 100 must also be paid.
