After the announcement of XAT 2019 exam dates, the changes in exam pattern are clear. The Xavier Labour Relation Institute (XLRI) is conducting the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2019 on January 06, 2019. Now the major changes that are introduced are in the exam pattern of XAT 2019. The essay section has been eliminated from the paper. As per the official website of XLRI, the exam pattern will remain the same, however, the essay section has been eliminated.

This is a good news for the XAT 2019 aspirants, as this will take off the burden. Until last year, there was essay question compulsory in section B of the question paper. Now, the entire exam pattern will stay as it was, just that the essay section has been removed. The exam will now be of 03 hours duration.

XAT 2019 will consist of Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR), Decision Making (DM), Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QA & DI), General Knowledge (GK).

The examination will be conducted in a single shift, i.e. from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM. The exam will be computer-based, for which the registrations will start from August 20, 2018. The last date to submit the application form is November 30, 2018. All the registration related process will be online at xatonline.in.

Other major changes apart for the exam pattern is that the registration fee has been increased too. Last year, the application fee was Rs. 1650/-, however, now the candidates have to pay an amount of Rs. 1700/- for the registration for XAT. In addition to that, the application fee payment mode for XAT 2019 is online only, no offline mode of payment is available this year.

Highlights

  • The essay section is eliminated from XAT 2019 computer-based test.
  • XAT 2019 Examination Fee is Rs. 1700/-
  • Only online mode of application fee submission is available

In XAT 2019 the marking scheme will include a negative marking of 0.25 marks. Annually approximately 90,000 candidates appear for the XAT examination. The score of XAT is accepted by XLRI and 150+ B-schools.

The XAT 2019 syllabus is not officially available. However, the candidates can prepare for the examination as per the questions that are asked in previous years. The previous years question papers of XAT will also give an idea of what are the questions that form the XAT test papers.

Qualifying XAT 2019 opens the doors of admission to Post Graduate Management programs such as Business Management (BM), Human Resource Management (HRM), Global Business Management (GBM) and General Management Programme (GMP).
