West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board is now bracing itself to conduct a new session of the WBJEE examination. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2022 is likely to be held in April 2022, for the academic year 2022-23. This state-level entrance test will be held for all those who wish to pursue undergraduate education within West Bengal.
As of now, several aspects pertaining to the exam remain a mystery. However, referring to past-year events and details about WBJEE 2022 known so far, here are 5 things a candidate must know about the exam –
#1 WBJEE 2021 Exam Date
The state examinations board recently published an important update on its official website wbjeeb.nic.in. Accordingly, the WBJEE 2022 examination is scheduled to be held on April 23, 2022. Although this date is tentative, students can take it as a reference date and plan their preparation accordingly. If the exam happens in April, students have roughly 4 months to prepare for the exam.
#2 WBJEE 2022 Courses Offered
The state-level entrance test is going to be conducted for admission to several undergraduate courses. These courses are pertaining to three fields – Pharmacy, Engineering & Technology, and Architecture. While the third subject may differ, Physics and Chemistry are the common subjects for all streams. The basic UG courses offered include B.Tech, B.E., B.Arch. and B.Pharm.
#3 Registration Timeline for WBJEE 2022 (tentative)
As stated on the official website, the WBJEE 2021 application process is likely to begin in the fourth week of December 2021, preferably by the 28th or 29th day of the month. Based on last year’s pattern, the application process will continue to the last week of January or the first week of February 2022.
#4 WBJEE 2022 Paper Pattern
Although the WBJEE 2022 information brochure is yet to release on the official website wbjeeb.nic.in, the paper pattern will remain similar to last year’s exam. So based on last year’s pattern, the exam will be held in the pen-and-paper mode, in the form of two papers – Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics & Chemistry), each of 2 hours’ duration.
WBJEE 2022 Paper I will comprise 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for a maximum of 100 marks. However, Paper II, 80 questions for a maximum of 100 marks i.e., Physics and Chemistry will each comprise 40 questions for a maximum of 60 marks.
