A total of 50 questions were framed for 2 marks each in paper 1 of the examination. Similar pattern was observed in paper 2 where 100 questions were framed for 200 marks in the WB SET 2022 examination. Objective type questions with one correct answer out of four available options were asked in the exam. Question papers were framed in English language only. Paper 1 consisted of questions asked from General Knowledge and Aptitude in Teaching. On the other hand, questions framed in paper 2 were based on the optional (33 subjects) subject of the candidate’s choice.
If a candidate wishes to qualify the exam, he/she has to score minimum qualifying marks prescribed by WBCSC in their official information bulletin. WBCSC follows general cut off criteria as followed by other states in their respective SET examinations. Unreserved and EWS category candidates must mandatorily score 40% or above in paper 1 and 2 combined in order to qualify the exam. Similarly OBC/Differently Abled/SC/ST category candidates must score 35% or more in both the papers combined in order to qualify the exam. However candidates must note that, it is mandatory for all the reserved category applicants to submit their non creamy layer certificate in order to avail the concession in marks.
Subject wise cut off marks for WB SET 2022 paper 2 exam varies every year. Applicants can study previous year’s trends and estimate this year’s cut off based on the number of candidates appearing for the exam and difficulty level of the questions framed in the exam.
