WB SET 2022 Answer Key

The West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) conducted the 23rd WB State Eligibility Test today, January 09, 2022. Exams were held in 2 sessions at 189 affiliate centers in 68 sub-divisions across the state. As per the schedule Paper 1 exam was conducted from 10.30 am to 11.30 am whereas Paper 2 was conducted from 12.00pm to 2.00 pm respectively. Candidates appearing in today’s WB SET 2022 exam can now check answer keys released by coaching centers, teachers, educators and tutors to calculate their scores obtained in the exam.

Official answer keys will be released soon on the official website of WBCSCS at wbcsc.org.in. However, candidates wishing to calculate their scores soon after the examination gets over can refer to the unofficial answer keys posted by various subject experts online. Many teachers and content creators find YouTube as a fair and viable platform to post the answer keys for different exams online. Some of the youtube channels who frequently post SET exam answer keys of different states are mentioned in the table below:

Applicants are advised to visit the above mentioned channels to check WB SET 2022 exam analysis and answer keys. The unofficial answer keys posted on youtube channels may or may not differ from the actual one. Probability Is quite low if candidates are referring to genuine content. Scores can be easily calculated using the unofficial answer keys by following the WB SET 2022 simple marking scheme: +2 marks for correct answers whereas 0 marks for every unattempted question and incorrect answers.

A total of 50 questions were framed for 2 marks each in paper 1 of the examination. Similar pattern was observed in paper 2 where 100 questions were framed for 200 marks in the WB SET 2022 examination. Objective type questions with one correct answer out of four available options were asked in the exam. Question papers were framed in English language only. Paper 1 consisted of questions asked from General Knowledge and Aptitude in Teaching. On the other hand, questions framed in paper 2 were based on the optional (33 subjects) subject of the candidate’s choice.

If a candidate  wishes to qualify the exam, he/she has to score minimum qualifying marks prescribed by WBCSC in their official information bulletin. WBCSC follows general cut off criteria as followed by other states in their respective SET examinations. Unreserved and EWS category candidates must mandatorily score 40% or above in paper 1 and 2 combined in order to qualify the exam. Similarly OBC/Differently Abled/SC/ST category candidates must score 35% or more in both the papers combined in order to qualify the exam. However candidates must note that, it is mandatory for all the reserved category applicants to submit their non creamy layer certificate in order to avail the concession in marks.

Subject wise cut off marks for WB SET 2022 paper 2 exam varies every year. Applicants can study previous year’s trends and estimate this year’s cut off based on the number of candidates appearing for the exam and difficulty level of the questions framed in the exam.

West Bengal State Eligibility Test (WB SET) is led by West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) to shortlist applicants  for Assistant Professor’s post in various Universities and Colleges of West Bengal. WBCSC holds the test in two shifts for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is normal for all applicants and Paper 2 is for 33 subjects. Competitors need to score least qualifying marks in both the papers of SET in total to become qualified for Assistant Professor post.
