West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) is going to announce the WB Madhyamik or Class 10 results 2021 today, July 20, 2021, at 10:00 am. While the results will be announced in a press conference at 9:00 am, they shall be made available for students an hour later, on the official website wbbse.wb.gov.in. Besides this, Class 10 students can also check their results on the website wbresults.nic.in and other third-party websites. This year, the state board authorities cancelled the Class 10 board exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, to assess students, Class 9 marks along with Class 10 internal assessments have been taken into consideration.

This year, approximately 12 lakh students have registered themselves to appear for the Madhyamik or Class 10 board exams. However, due to the cancellation of exams, these students are now been assessed based on alternate evaluation methodology.
Students should be ready with their roll numbers/registration numbers to check the result and keep both the websites open in different tabs i.e wbresults.nic.in and wbresults.nic.in.
How to Check the Result from wbbse.wb.gov.in –
Step 1: Visit the official website wbbse.wb.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the WB Madhyamik or Class 10 results 2021 link.
Step 3: A new page will open. Key in the credentials such as roll number or admit card ID.
Step 4: Submit the credentials to access the Class 10 results.
Step 5: Take a print or download a copy of the results for future use.
How to Check the Result from wbresults.nic.in –
Step 1: Visit the official website wbresults.nic.in. As soon as the results are released, the Madhyamik or Class 10 result link will flash on the screen.
Step 2: Click on the link displaying the WB Class 10 or Madhyamik 2021 results.
Step 3: After clicking on it, the result window shall open. Key in the required credentials such as roll number and date of birth.
Step 4: Click on the “Submit” option to access the results.
Step 5: Results will be displayed on the screen. Take a screenshot or download/print a copy of the results for future use.

Step 1 – Candidates have to first type WB<space>10 on mobile phones, along with their roll numbers
Step 2 – Then this SMS could be sent to the following numbers 58888/54242/56263.
Step 3 – After doing so, the result will be sent to the mobile number itself and the candidates will not need the internet also
Candidates must note that the WB Madhyamik 2021 results announced online are not the official mark sheets. These results are released to merely inform students about their performance in Class 10. The final mark sheets shall be distributed by the state education board to the respective schools in due course of time. Candidates can collect their Class 10 mark sheet as per the instructions provided by their respective schools.
WBBSE stated in an official notification that ONLY the guardians of students will be permitted to collect the passing certificates, marksheets and admit cards from the respective schools. This must be done by following all the COVID-19 protocols specified by the state government. Similarly, all institutions must have constant hand sanitisation, wearing of masks and proper social-distancing.
This year, Class 10 students in West Bengal have been evaluated on the basis of a 50:50 ratio. In this formula, 50% weightage has been given to performance in Class 9 and the remaining 50% weightage to internal assessments conducted in Class 10. Last year, a total of 10,03,666 students appeared for the Class 10 exams out of which 8,43,305 successfully passed. This amounted to a passing percentage of 86.07%. The passing percent is expected to increase this year.
