Vellore Institute of Technology shall begin the slot booking process tomorrow, May 17, 2021 for the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2021. All registered candidates have to book their slots on the official website vit.ac.in on or before May 21, 2021.
Thereafter, authorities shall be conducting mock tests from May 20 to 26, 2021. The purpose of these mock tests is to enable candidates to check the compatibility of their devices. Moreover, these mock exams are meant to help candidates families with the online, remote-proctored examination (ORPE). VITEEE 2021 is scheduled on May 28, 29 and 31, 2021.
The slot-booking process shall begin from May 17, 2021 and is only applicable for candidates who have completed the registration process. Those who haven’t completed the application process are expected to do so by May 20, 2021 on the institute’s website vit.ac.in. Candidates must note that the slot-booking process is mandatory. Those who fail to book their slots and take mock tests won’t have a compatible device and hence, shall not be able to appear for the actual examination.
According to the VIT guidelines, slots shall be made available for 2 mock tests and 1 actual examination. Candidates must remember that the slot (timing) they choose shall remain the same for both mock tests and the entrance exam. Hence, if they choose the first day, first slot, they are to appear at the same time on all three days. Additionally, the link to the mock tests shall be available on the official website viteee.ac.in or vit.ac.in. Furthermore, each applicant shall be informed about the links via SMS or email.
The first mock exam is scheduled from May 20 to 22, 2021. The mock test in this duration will be AI proctored. While the second mock test shall be organised from May 24 to 26, 2021, and in this, VIT faculty will invigilate the test. Four slots shall be conducted on all days of mock exam starting at 8:30 am, 11:00 am, 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm. In case the applicant fails to book a slot, the same shall be booked for him/her automatically. However, it may or may not coincide with the candidate’s preferred timing. Hence, it’s always better to book the preferred date and time beforehand.
VITEEE 2021 e-admit cards shall be issued to candidates after successfully booking their exam slots. They are advised to download the e-copy and take a printout of the same for verification during the entrance exam. Candidates require their e-admit card (both hardcopy and softcopy) along with a valid ID proof for the verification process. Along with this, applicants are also advised to have back-up devices (mobile and laptop) in case the main device fails to function. Furthermore, the laptop can be connected to the mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, if the need arises.
