SRM Institute of Science and Technology has extended the registration deadline for the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) 2021 from May 15, 2021 to May 19, 2021. Interested candidates can apply for the phase I entrance test on the official website srmist.edu.in on or before Wednesday. Subsequently, the slot booking process shall take place from May 19 to 21, 2021. The online, remote-proctored exam for Phase I shall be conducted as per schedule on May 23, and 24, 2021. Results for the same shall be released on May 27, 2021.
The institute will also organize mock tests on May 20 and 21, 2021 to help candidates understand the format of the exam. These mock tests also serve the purpose of familiarizing candidates with the exam infrastructure and interface. Moreover, last-minute doubts and confusion shall be avoided by appearing for these mock exams. Therefore, it has been made mandatory by SRM, for all aspirants to attend the mock tests. Those who fail to take the mock tests cannot appear in the actual exam.
SRM authorities shall provide the mock test links and the instruction manual for the remote, proctored exam on May 19, 20 and 21, 2021. Candidates can access thee links and the manual on the official portal srmist.edu.in. Furthermore, they also need to install the Safe Exam Browser (SEB) before following the instructions mentioned in the manual.
Candidates must bear in mind that they shall be permitted to appear for the actual exam if and only if, they were present for the mock tests. However, to appear for the mock tests, they have to book their slots beforehand during the specified duration i.e., May 19 to 21, 2021. Along with the slot booking process, candidates can also download their e-admit cards from the official website. In case the candidates cannot appear for the exam in the selected slot, they must write to the university. The university authorities in turn, shall book another slot for them.
SRM authorities have also provided certain instructions which are to be abided by during the actual SRMJEEE 2021 Phase I exam. According to the instructions, during the mock test, candidate’s login details shall be recorded and these can be used during the main exam. If not captured, they are to use the login credentials mentioned in the admit card to access the test.
SRMJEEE 2021 shall be of 150 minutes duration and candidates are expected to login to the portal at least 60 minutes prior. This is needed to capture their photograph and conduct the document verification. The 60 minutes can also be utilised by candidates to go through the important instructions. Furthermore, they shall not be able to end or quit the exam for the initial 120 minutes of the entire exam duration.
Each candidate shall be assigned one question paper in which they have to either answer the questions or skip them in case they cannot solve them. However, they are not permitted to revisit the same question after moving to the next question. The “I want to submit the test” button appears only after 120 minutes of the exam duration. Candidates are instructed to click this button to submit the test. Furthermore, the test closes automatically on completion of 150 minutes.
