Uttarakhand Board of Secondary Education (UBSE) has released the class 10 and 12 board exam results today, July 31, 2021. Results were announced on the state board’s official websites ubse.uk.gov.in and uaresults.nic.in. Students could also check their results using the SMS facility provided by UBSE. This year, according to official reports, 99.56% of class 12 students and 99.09% of class 10 students have successfully passed the board exams. The students were evaluated based on an alternate evaluation methodology. In case of class 12, 50:40:10 formula was used and for class 10, 75:25 strategy was used.

Uttarakhand board exam results 2021 Statistics

This year, as per reports, 99.56% of class 12 students have successfully passed class 12. Once again, girls have outperformed the boys by recording a pass percentage of 99.71%. However, the difference is minuscule as boys have recorded a pass percentage of 99.04%.

Last year, a total of 1,21,126 students had registered for the UBSE class 12 board exams. Out of the total students, 80.26% passed the written exams. Therefore, this year the class 12 pass percentage has increased considerably in comparison to last year.

In case of class 10, the state education board recorded a pass percentage of 99.09%. Last year, the pass percentage was 76.91%, so the difference between the two years is quite visible. This year the boys outperformed girls with a pass percentage of 99.30%. The girls however are not very far behind with a pass percentage of 98.86%.

As per the instructions issued by UBSE, students require a minimum of 33% marks in each subject to get promoted to the next stage. Additionally, they must also score at least 33% overall as well. However, students who are dissatisfied with their scores can appear for the improvement exam at a later stage. The timeline and exact timetable for re-exams are yet to be disclosed by the UBSE authorities.

Class 10 and 12 evaluation strategy

In the wake of the second wave of COVID-19, UBSE curated two separate methodologies for evaluating class 10 and 12 students. Accordingly, class 10 students have been evaluated based on a 75:25 formula – 75% weightage to class 9 performance and 25% weightage to internal assessments and pre-boards in class 10.

In case of class 12 students, UBSE employed the 50:40:10 evaluation methodology. Accordingly, 50% weightage was given to performance in class 10, 40% to class 11 marks and the remaining 10% to internals and practical in class 12. Similar strategies have been employed by other central and state boards to evaluate students.
