The Union Public Service Commission is going to conduct the NDA 2020 exam as per schedule on September 06, 2020. The date has been announced after delaying the exam due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As the nation progressively adapts survival strategies amidst the crisis, the Commission has decided to conduct a common exam on the aforementioned date for selection of both NDA 1 and NDA 2, 2020. However, this year, the Commission has maintained a strict stance to ensure that all standard operating procedure (SOP) to prevent the spread of the deadly virus from the exam centre are followed. Candidates must be aware of the exam day guidelines that must be followed mandatorily.

The Commission has already made it compulsory that candidates appearing for the NDA 1 & 2, 2020 exam at centres across the country have to wear a face mask at all times. The mask must be worn at all times and removed whenever asked by the authorities at the exam centre for verification of identity or any other purpose. Candidates are allowed to carry their own hand sanitizers in small bottles. However, the bottles must be transparent. It is also expected that candidates will comply with the norms for social distancing at the exam centre. These measures must be strictly followed in the greater interest of the preservation of public health during the exam days.

It is usual that candidates are frisked for verifying that they are not carrying any banned item to the exam centre on the day of the exam. There will be provisions for such frisking although candidates will first be checked for body temperature and any symptoms for COVID-19 infection. Candidates must report to the allocated exam centre well before time to ensure that they are able to complete the initial procedure and enter the exam hall in time. Candidates will be allowed to enter the exam hall only till 10 minutes before the exam is commenced.

Candidates must also note that items banned at the exam centre must not be carried. This includes smartphones, smartwatches and other communication devices. The details of such items can be checked from the respective NDA official notifications available at the UPSC website i.e. upsc.gov.in. In addition, candidates must carry a black ballpoint pen to mark their answers in the OMR sheets on the exam day.

Further details and instructions regarding the exam and exam day guidelines can be found on the admit cards released by the Commission for eligible candidates. Candidates must note that without the admit card, one is not allowed to enter the exam hall. In addition to the printed copy of the duly issued admit card, one must also carry a government-issued photo identity card such as Voter Card or Aadhar card for the verification of identity.
