The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has collaborated with the University of California (UC) Berkeley. The aim of this collaboration is to expand students’ prospects of international exposure and study-abroad programs pertinent to tackle the new normal demands.
Both the Universities came together for an online discussion. This discussion enabled students to interact with the Berkeley Global team. The delegates from the Berkeley Global Team included Ms. Bhavya Kondapaneni, India Regional Manager, Ms. Mariam Rahimi, Admissions Advising Manager, Ms. Jill Vanderkar, Admissions/Recruitment Specialist, Global Outreach, and Ms. Audrey Foulk, Admissions Advisor. This discussion was moderated by Dr. Sheetal Khanka, Head of Department, International Affairs, UPES.
Discussions were held regarding the selection of the right programs for global education and also their advantages in the current scenario, eligibility for admission in the University of California (UC) Berkeley, their scholarship schemes, online and offline classes, the application process, and much more.
About the scholarship scheme of the University of California (UC) Berkeley it was revealed that they offer 1000-dollar scholarship for anyone competing the Berkeley Haas Global Access Program (BHGAP) Online Innovation Program. This scholarship can be applied to a future in-person semester for a BHGAP program. They also have a have a 2500-dollar scholarship for anyone completing the Berkeley Global Legal Studies (BGLS) online program and apply that scholarship towards a future in-person semester of a Legal Studies Global Access Program (LSGAP). Additionally, thay also have four 5000-dollar scholarships per semester.
Talking about the admission process of University of California (UC) Berkeley, it was said that while selecting a candidate some factors that play a major role are: experience of the candidate with the subject, why a candidate is interested in a particular area, why did they choose this programs specifically, and how will it contribute to candidate’s future goals. Additionally, it was said that due to the current pandemic situation some of the general requirements of admission are being waived off, depending on the cases.
For admission in the courses offered by the University of California (UC) Berkeley, candidates must go through the basic requisites of the courses under the program.
