UP Police SI Recruitment 2020 for 9534 Vacancy in December 2020 / January 2021; Tender Bids Causing Delay

As per reports, application process for UPPRPB recruitment of 9534 SI & other posts will commence in December 2020/January 2021 after the selection of Exam Conducting Agency

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board is likely to commence the online application process for recruitment to 9534 vacancies in December 2020/January 2021. The Board has already informed about the increase in the number of vacancies from 6130 to 9534 through the website uppbpb.gov.in. As per the statements of Director R.K. Vishwakarma, tenders for conducting the written exam has already been invited by the Board. The Board has officially extended the last date of submission of bids to September 23, 2020. Tender Opening Committee of the Board is all set to open the submitted bids tomorrow i.e. September 24, 2020. Reportedly, the ongoing circumstances related to COVID-19 and delay in the selection of Exam Conducting Agency.

In a bid to expand the state police force, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board is all set to recruit 9534 personnel through direct recruitment. Earlier, only 6130 vacancies were announced among which 5623 vacancies were for Civil Police Sub Inspector post, 484 vacancies were for Platoon Commander post and 23 vacancies were for Fireman posts. However, the Board increased the number of vacancies to 9534.

The recruitment process will reportedly consist of a written test, physical fitness tests, physical measurement tests and document verification stage. Although the vacancies were notified there has been a significant delay in commencing the application process for the recruitment. Reportedly, the failure to select an appropriate Exam Conducting Agency (ECA) is the primary reason behind this delay. As per reports, the last date of submission of bids was extended earlier and again now as the terms and conditions of the tender were not being fulfilled by prospective bidders. The Board officially extended the last date of submission of bids till September 23, 2020, i.e. today.

Previously, the Board invited bids against the tender till August 23, 2020. But the date was later extended to August 28, 2020. However, when the tender opening committee opened the bids there were only 2 tenders leading to the decision to extend the tender dates further. However, even after opening the tender bids on September 17, the Board found only 2 bidders. Currently, the last date of submission of bids is today while the bids will be opened tomorrow.

With the commencement of the application process, prospective candidates will be able to apply online for recruitment. Reportedly, the entire process of selection of Exam Conducting Agency will take around 2 months time. As such, the application process is scheduled to commence tentatively during the month of December 2020 or January 2021. Candidates intending to apply for the recruitment are advised to regularly check the official website of the Board for all the latest updated and detailed information about the recruitment.
