UP CM Yogi Adityanath Reiterates Welfare of Girl Child on the occasion of Vijayadashami

On the occasion of Vijaydashami, the UP Chief Minister shed light on the progress of various programmes and reiterated the importance of the occasion.

Marriage program for more than 1.75 lakh poor girls successfully organised under the “Mukhyamantri Mass Marriage Scheme”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the central and state governments are committed to women empowerment. The ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign is being run across the country under the leadership of the honourable Prime Minister. He further stated that through this campaign, there has been a positive change in the thinking of society towards daughters. Every section of society is striving towards making their daughters strong and capable. Now every daughter will be able to lead a life and educate themselves and monitor their paths towards respect and self-reliance in society.


Chief Minister was addressing media representatives in the Gorakhpur district today. He said that the consciousness of the society would help them in developing the state of daughters. Many programs are being run to ensure the safety of daughters including Mother Vandana and they are giving us a new direction. Mission Shakti program run by the state government is a campaign to protect, respect and ensure self-reliance of motherly power.


The Chief Minister said that the festival of Navratri is the most powerful means of showing respect for the motherly power in the Sanatan tradition of India. This sacred feeling should come into the mind of every person. We have to add this tradition to our sanskaras. He said that if we take the form of Goddess, whom we worship in general, in a practical way, then along with motherly power, there will be an increase in the security, respect and self-reliance of sisters, daughters.


The Chief Minister said that every citizen has to change their attitude towards the girl child and women. Every girl is strong and can lead in every field. Can provide proper guidance to society. In this, along with the safety of the girl child, the campaign will have to be carried forward for education, health and their self-reliance and respect.


The Chief Minister said that the State Government has taken many steps in the direction of women empowerment. Education of girls up to graduation is free in the state. Through ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana‘, the state government is providing financial assistance of Rs 15,000 in six instalments from the birth of the girl child till her graduation. So far, 10 lakh girls have benefited from this scheme. Similarly, the state government has successfully organized the marriage programs of more than 1.75 lakh poor girls through ‘Mukhyamantri Samaj Vivah Yojana’.


The Chief Minister said that the importance of worshipping the Goddess, the presiding deity of Shakti, shows that Adi Shakti is the basis of the power of this past world. Since time immemorial, the Sanatan tradition of India has been organizing Basantik Navratri and Shardiya Navratri 02 times in a year as the worship and rituals of the Goddess of power. Every Indian feels proud of the legacy of thousands of years. Motherly power has an invaluable contribution to the development of our civilization, culture and rites. It is the good fortune of all of us that in the Mahanavami of Shardiya Navratri, we get a holy opportunity to worship Goddess Swaroopa Kumari girls.


While giving warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the state, the Chief Minister said that this festival is a symbol of victory of religion and truth over sinfulness. This festival gives inspiration to all of us to move forward on the path of truth and religion. The path of Dharma inspires and encourages us to move forward towards our duties. He said that where there is truth and justice, there will definitely be victory.

Chief Minister organized programs on Vijayadashami; appealed to fully follow the COVID-19 protocol

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Vijayadashami (Dussehra).


The Chief Minister said that the festival of Vijayadashami symbolizes the victory of religion over unrighteousness, good over evil and truth over untruth. On this day Lord Shri Ram killed Ravana. This festival is celebrated all over India with traditional reverence and exhilaration.
Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram was devoted to truth, dignity, justice, peace, benevolence and public welfare. The life of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram, a symbol of moral, human and social values, provides inspiration to walk on the right path and lead an ideal life. The festival of Vijayadashami gives us the message of achieving our goals with hope, enthusiasm and energy.


On the day of Vijayadashami, Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram had conquered Ravana, synonymous with terror, injustice and unrighteousness. Vijayadashami is a festival of Shakti worship. By worshipping Jagadamba for nine days of Navratri, power is transmitted among the devotees. Since the time of Lord Rama, this day marks the victory of good over evil.


The Chief Minister has appealed to fully follow the protocol of COVID-19 in the programs to be organized on the occasion of Vijayadashami.
