According to many media reports, it is expected that UP Board high school and intermediate exams are expected to be held in the month of March-April for the year 2021. The officials shall soon release the information regarding the dates of practical examinations. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the centre has lagged from assessment to experimental examination, furthermore, the panchayat election is going to start from February and March which can also cause a big problem for conducting the board exams.
The board has intensified the preparation for conducting High School and Intermediate 2021 exams and the same has been instructed to the schools to prepare for the exams.
Earlier, the board would generally send the proposal of fixing the center by the the second or third week of October but this year it has been forwarded already. However, the policy has not yet been finalized yet and the major reason behind is the pandemic. Officials have yet to take a decision on whether the centers will be decided based on social distancing or like previous years.
The preparations are to start the board exams in the first or second week of February this year, which will go till mid-March. Last year, the board released the time table on July 1, however, this year the board has not yet decided any information related to the release of time table.
The syllabus for the UP Board exam for the academic year 2020-21 has been reduced by 30%. The state education board took this decision as due to COVID-19 outbreak, studies in its affiliated schools have been hampered and hence has decided to reduce the syllabus by 30% so that students can prepare better for the exam.
Many educational institutes have been closed in the state since March due to rising number of COVID cases. However, recently many states have started reopening schools for classes 9 to 12. In UP, however, only one third of children from class 9 to 12 attending the regular classes. As per one of the report sent by District School Inspector RN Vishwakarma to the government, about 137985 (i.e 32.94%) out of 418888 students from classes 9 to 12 registered in 1079 secondary schools in the district were present in the school. Furthermore, parents of 159305 children have given consent to send their kids to the school and as many as 12438 teachers are present in the schools till date.
