The students of Allen Career Institute flourished again after the declaration of the result of 15th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO). This Olympiad took place from December 03 to December 10, 2018 in Botswana. It is one of the proud moment for India as the Indian Team won 6 medals out of which 5 medals were bagged by the students of ALLEN making India one of the best performers in the world.
Approximately 300 meritorious students belonging to the age group of 15 years from 50 countries participated in IJSO 2018. In total, 6 students participated stood for India, out of which 5 students were from Allen Career Institute. Indian Team received 5 gold and 1 silver medal in 15th International Junior Science Olympiad. In other words, the students from Allen Career Institute won 4 Gold and 1 Silver medal.
Mohit Gupta, Naman Singh Rana, Vaibhav Raj, Ameya Deshmukh won the gold medal whereas Barun Parua won a silver medal and made India proud. They all were the classroom students of Allen. These students have flourished having the winning streak and excelled in the World’s Most Prestigious Science Examination after the months of vigorous training at ALLEN and after cracking difficult levels of NSEJS, INJSO, OCSC which was a tough competition on National Level.
All You Need To Know About International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)
International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is an academic competition which covers the subjects the Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the junior science students. This examination takes place annually. This competition is famously known for its complexity and difficulty level as it requires wide knowledge range in all the three basic sciences. In this competition, topmost junior science students take part from each country and every student is given an opportunity to be in competition with other students who are at the same level of their intelligence from across the globe. The final stage of this competition includes more than 300 talented students from almost 50 countries belonging to the age group of 15 years.
The Junior Science Olympiad have 5 stages in total. Stage 1 is a National Standard Examination in Junior Science (NSEJS) and this stage took place in November 2017. In this stage, 75 students were selected from ALLEN. Stage 2 is known as an Indian National Junior Science Olympiad (INJSO) which took place in January 2018 and in this stage, 18 students were picked out from ALLEN to represent in the next stage, although 41 students took part in this stage from all over India. Stage 2 is known as Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC) and in this stage, 6 students in total got selected to represent India. The statistics say that out of total 6 students, 5 students belonged to ALLEN. The 4th stage is Pre – Departure Training Camp (PDT) in which all the 6 selected students were given training before going for the International Level. The last and concluding stage is the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) which took place in Gaborone, Botswana, Southern Africa.
