SSC Announced 283 Vacancies for Junior Translator, Junior Hindi Translator & Senior Hindi Translator

Candidates who have Master's Degree in Hindi or English with translation certificate can submit their online applications before July 25

Staff Selection Commission has released a recruitment notification for the post of Junior Translator, Junior Hindi Translator and Senior Hindi Translator. The commission has announced 275 posts for Junior Translator/ Junior Hindi Translator and 08 for Senior Hindi Translator. Detailed notification including the eligibility, vacancy and other important aspects of recruitment is available on the official website, ssc.nic.in. The process to submit the SSC JHT application form begins from June 29, 2020, onwards. Aspirants can submit their online application form before the last date which is July 25, 2020. Paper 1 of SSC JHT exam is scheduled to be held on October 06, 2020, followed by the Paper 2 which is scheduled on January 31, 2021.

The candidates must have a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or Master’s in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject to apply. Along with the Master’s degree, they shall also possess a diploma or certificate in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa. Those who have 02 years work experience in translation with State or Central government can also submit their representations for the announced posts. The minimum age required for the post of SSC JHT is 18 years as on January 01, 2021. Aspirants must not exceed the upper age limit of 30 years. Age relaxations are provided to the candidates who belong to the reserved category as per the official notification.

The submission of application form is carried out through an online process only. Candidates have to visit ssc.nic.in to register themselves and fill up the SSC JHT application form. The user ID and password that is generated at the time of registration must be kept safe for complete SSC JHT recruitment. Candidates who belong to general category have to make a payment of Rs.100/- as the application fee. Women and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD and ESM category are exempted from the fee submission

Aspirants who are shortlisted for announced posts are offered different salaries. SSC offers Rs.35400- 112400 for the post of Junior Translator in Central Secretariat Official Language Service (CSOLS), Junior Translator in M/o Railways (Railway Board), Junior Translator in Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ), Junior Translator (JT)/Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) in subordinate offices who have adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/ JHT. Those who are shortlisted for Senior Hindi Translator in various Central Government Ministries/Departments/ Offices are offered Rs.44900- 142400.

The candidates are shortlisted under these pay scales and post only if they are able to qualify Paper 1, Paper 2 and DV round. The final merit list for SSC JHT is based on the marks secured in Paper 1, Paper 2 and preference opted by them for a Ministry/Department/Organization during DV. If a candidate is selected under Junior Translator in BRO, they have to clear an additional round which is PET round.
