RRB Group D Exam 2018: Notice On Section Wise Marks For Computer Based Test Released; Railway Recruitment Board To Hold Exam For 1.9 Crore Candidates

Railway Recruitment Board has today released pattern of RRB Group D Exam 2018. Candidates who have applied for CEN 02/2018 for 62907 vacancies in various posts in level 1 of 7th CPC pay matrix can read notice on section wise marks for computer based test and prepare accordingly. Today’s notification clarifies exam duration, names of subjects, questions distribution, mode. With soon approaching conclusion of ALP and Technician exam, Indian Railway is announcing all details of RRB Group D Exam 2018 one by one. A few days ago, the tentative exam date for RRB Group D 2018 exam was also announced.

RRB Group D Exam 2018 will be a computer based test. There will be 4 sections in the exam, namely mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning, general science, general awareness and current affairs. Overall number of questions shall be 100. Candidates have to attempt the exam in 90 minutes. However, time duration for PWD candidates with scribe will be 120 minutes.

Coming to questions distribution, that too is explained in the “CEN 02/2018 (Level 1 Posts) Notice on Section wise marks for Computer Based Test (CBT)”. Mathematics section will have 25 questions. General intelligence and reasoning will have 30 questions. General science shall have 25 questions. General awareness and current affairs will have 20 questions.

However, at the end of the notice, there is a disclaimer that says “The section wise distribution given above is only indicative and there may be some variations in the actual question papers”.

A few days ago, 3 to be precise, Railway Recruitment Board had finally broken the silence on exam date. It was notified that RRB Group D Exam 2018 will be held from September 17, 2018. Candidates will be able to check their exam date, shift, session, city from official website of RRBs around 10 days before exam. At the same time, they can download admit card.

Indian Railway is orchestrating the mammoth task of organizing computer based test for Group D, or posts in Level 1, for a mind boggling number of 1.9 crore candidates. There are bound to be several logistical challenges which are being tackled by the organizers. They have already proved successful in conducting computer based test for ALP and Technician posts, for which 47.5 lakh candidates appeared. Now that ALP and Technician (CEN 01/2018) exam is ending on September 4, 2018, all resources will be focused on RRB Group D Exam 2018.

RRB Group D Exam 2018 will be held from September 17, 2018, to November. Complete day wise schedule will be issued in some time. It will be publicized widely in newspapers and official websites of RRBs. Indian Railway advices candidates to refer to official websites for Railway Recruitment 2018 related updates.

Although today’s notification does not elaborate syllabus, but that was already given in RRB Group D 2018 notification. In mathematics, questions will be asked on number system, bodmas, decimals, fractions, lcm, hcf, ratio and proportion, percentages, mensuration, time and work; time and distance, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, algebra, geometry and trigonometry, elementary statistics, square root, age calculations, calendar & clock, pipes & cistern.

General intelligence and reasoning section will have questions on analogies, alphabetical and number series, coding and decoding, mathematical operations, relationships, syllogism, jumbling, venn diagram, data interpretation and sufficiency, conclusions and decision making, similarities and differences, analytical reasoning, classification, directions, statement – arguments and assumptions.

Science section will have questions on physics, chemistry and life sciences of 10 standard level.

General awareness and current affairs will have questions on science & technology, sports, culture, personalities, economics, politics and any other subjects of importance.
