SNAP 2018

The Symbiosis International (Deemed Univeristy) has published the complete information on SNAP 2018. Also, the registration process for SNAP 2018 has been started from August 28, 2018. As per the information brochure, the exam for Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) will be held on December 16, 2018.

With the release of the information brochure, it is observed that there have been few changes in this national level entrance test. Firstly, the number of test cities have been reduced from 102 to 92. Secondly, there is a change in the exam pattern. Apart from the MCQ questions, the candidates will now have to Special questions as well.

This year, few exam centers have been added and some have been removed from the list. It is important that candidates should carefully choose their test center as once the payment is done, they cannot edit this part. Cities such as Asansol, Chandigarh – Mohali, Delhi – Gurugram, Ernakulam-Kochi, Hubballi, Noida-G Noida-Ghaziabad, Panjim – Mapusa, Thane-Kalyan-Dombivli have been added. Whereas, test cities such as Rohtak, Durgapur have been removed from the list.

Coming to the exam pattern, from this year onwards, the candidates will have to solve Normal and Special Questions. The SNAP Test is an objective test, and hence you will get 04 choices (only for Normal Questions). Whereas for the Special questions, you will not get any options and you need to type the answer using the virtual keyboard.

For example: if there is a question, “What is the capital of Australia?” The candidate needs to enter the answer as CANBERRA by using the virtual keyboard.

With the introduction of the Special Questions, there has also been a change in the number of questions and the marking scheme.

The Normal Question will carry 01 marks and the Special Question will carry 02 marks. There is a negative marking and it is applicable to both type of questions. Each wrong answer attracts 25% negative marks.

The number of sections is the same as last year and the candidates need to prepare topics such as General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability (Section I); Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency (Section II); Analytical & Logical Reasoning (Section III); and lastly Current Affairs (Section IV).

The number of MCQ questions has been reduced from 40 to 30 now. For Section I to III, the number of Normal Questions are 30 each. Whereas, for the Current Affairs section, the number of Normal Questions is 20. The number of Special Questions is 05 in each section.

The registration for SNAP 2018 has been started and the last date to submit the application form & pay the registration fee is November 26, 2018.
