Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced the RRB ALP Question Paper Pattern for the stage 1 CBT. In CEN 01 / 2018, the Board disclosed that the stage 1 CBT will be a 60 minutes examination, in which candidates will have to solve 75 multiple choice questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness & Current Affairs. However, now the Board has also declared the number of questions in each section.
As per the recently released notification, in RRB ALP / Technician 2018 CBT, 20 questions will be asked from Mathematics, 25 questions will be on General Intelligence & Reasoning, 20 questions will be asked from General Science and only 10 questions will be on General Awareness & Current Affairs.
The notice also clearly states that candidates belonging to PwD category, and have applied for a Scribe will be getting 80 minutes to solve the question paper of ALP 2018. On the exam day, the candidates will have to carry RRB ALP Admit Card 2018, photo ID card and one photograph.
The syllabus of the examination is also very well defined. In Mathematics, the candidates need to study BODMAS, Number System, LCM, Ration & Proportion, Fractions, etc. The question in General Intelligence and Reasoning will be asked on Jumbling, Data Interpretation & Sufficiency, Syllogism, Coding & Decoding, etc. General Science syllabus comprises of questions on Physics, Chemistry, Life Science of upto 10th standard. Lastly, the questions in General Awareness will be asked on current affairs. The details syllabus of RRB ALP 2018 is as shown below:

The candidates can easily solve the examination by preparing strategically for the computer based test. Instead of studying from numerous books, the candidates should prepare for RRB ALP from one book. But, candidates should solve it completely. Also, the candidates must practice as many mock test as they can. This will help in increasing the speed and accuracy of the candidates.
Candidates who will qualify stage 1 CBT will be called for Stage 2 examination. However, only those candidates will qualify Stage 1 CBT, who will be score more than the cut off percentage. The cut off marks from the examination are 40% for the candidates belonging to UR category, 30% for the candidates belonging to SC and OBC category, and 25% for the ST category candidate.
