The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has published a notification in which it has stated that the 2nd stage CBT has been postponed. The exam which was earlier scheduled to be held from December 12-14, 2018, as per the notification has been postponed to December 24, 2018. The notification regarding the cancellation of Stage 1 CBT and postponement of the Second stage test was earlier published by RRB Ranchi but was then removed. However, now it has been confirmed by RRB Ajmer through the official notification published at its website.

The Board announced the result for First Stage CBT on November 02, 2018. Along with the result, the master question paper and answer key for the Stage 1 CBT was made available. As per the notification, many candidates raised an objection that they could not qualify the test due to the wrong answer marked in the final answer key. Many candidates submitted the representation regarding the discrepancy in the ALP Stage 1 Answer Key.

Candidates can check the official notification from the images below.

The Board took notice of the objection submitted by the candidate and it was observed that there were many errors in the Final Answer Key. Considering this, the Board decided to review the answers of all the questions and publish the revised answer key with the revised score. Hence as per the official notification, the result which was published earlier stands canceled and a revised list of shortlisted candidates will be published online.

The list of shortlisted candidates of Stage 1 CBT consists of only the Roll Number of the qualifiers. Those who qualify the Stage 1 CBT will then be eligible to appear for the Second Stage CBT. The Board shall issue the admit card to the qualified candidates at least four (04) days prior to the test date. Hence, the RRB ALP Stage 2 CBT Admit Card shall be available for download from December 20, 2018, onwards.

To qualify the Stage 1 CBT, the candidates has to obtain minimum cut off marks as decided by the Board. Those who belong to the General Category need to obtain minimum 40% marks, whereas, those candidates who belong to SC and OBC category need 30% marks to pass RRB ALP Stage 1 CBT, and the ST category candidates only need to secure 25% marks.

The RRB conducted the first stage examination from August 9 to September 4, 2018. As per the newspaper reports, a total of 36,47,541 candidates appeared for the test, out of which, only a total of 5,88,605 candidates manage to qualify for the Stage 2 CBT. This was a surprising number as the Board recently increased the number of vacancies for RRB ALP Technician Recruitment 2018. This means that 15 times the number of vacancies candidates were to be selected, which should be around 9.5 lakh candidates.
