Odisha Public Service Commission has issued a latest recruitment notification for the post of Medical Officer. The Commission is inviting online applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill up 2452 vacancies for the aforementioned post. Online applications for the aforementioned recruitment can be submitted starting from February 26, 2021 to March 25, 2021. Selection of the eligible applicants is to be done through written test and career marking as per the instructions indicated in the official notification.
As per the latest notice released by the OPSC, the 2452 vacancies are available under the Odisha Medical & Health Services cadre under the Family & Health Welfare department. Selected candidates are to be posted in Group A (Junior Branch) as directed in the official notification. Candidates are to be appointed in the Level 12 of the pay matrix as per the Cell-1 of ORSP rules, 2017 with the standard dearness & other allowances as indicated by the Government.

OPSC has specified certain minimum conditions of eligibility in the official notification. Candidates intending to apply for recruitment to the aforementioned post of Medical Officer, must at first ensure that they fulfil such eligibility criteria. Candidates within the age group of 21 to 32 years, as on January 01, 2021 are eligible to apply. Such applicants must not have been born before January 02, 1989 or and after January 01, 2000.
Applicants must also possess certain minimum educational qualifications in order to apply for this recruitment. All applicants must have passed the MBBS degree from a Medical College/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India. Candidates must be registered with the Odisha Medical Council under provisions of the Odisha Medical Registration Act, 1961.
Those who fulfil the aforementioned criteria can apply online as per schedule by paying an application fee of Rs 500. However, candidates belonging to the SC/ST and PWD categories of the state are exempted from the payment of any fee. OPSC is going to conduct written tests for the initial shortlisting of the eligible applicants. The final shortlisting of the applicants is to be done on the basis of the performance in the written test and career marking. While the written test carries 70% of the weightage of the total marks, the rest is carried by Career Marking. Candidates may note that the written exam is to be conducted in Cuttack/Bhubaneshwar as per schedule.
