Odisha NEET Counselling Deferred

Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) has released a notification regarding the NEET counselling postponement. The counselling was scheduled to begin today i.e., November 29, 2021, but due to some unforeseen reasons, it has been deferred by the authorities until further notice.

OJEE will publish the merit list for admissions into MBBS & BDS 2021 on the basis of NEET (UG) scores. The counselling authorities will release the merit list online on the official website ojee.nic.in, in pdf format. Through OJEE MBBS & BDS 2021 Ranking candidates will be granted admissions to the MBBS & BDS seats offered by medical colleges around the state.

After the completion of the counselling round and allotment of seats, the authority will release the schedule for document verification. All the applicants seeking admissions and having their names on the merit list will have to report in person and get their documents verified for admission into the medical college.

Therefore, to avoid last-minute hustle candidates must keep the following required documents ready in advance: Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and passing certificates, NEET UG admit card and scorecard, Domicile certificate and Category certificate (if applicable), ID proof, Passport size photograph, Application and fee receipt.

The admissions to the medical colleges after clearing NEET are done on two basis: 15% All India Quota and 85% State Quota seats. Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is responsible for admissions to 15% AIQ seats, while the 85% State Quota seats are allotted on the basis of NEET scores by the state counselling authorities. However, the candidates should be the domicile of the state for filling up applications under state medical colleges.

This year, the NEET UG exam underwent a lot of obstructions. The exam could not be conducted smoothly owing to the Supreme Court case, allegations of question leak and disbarment of fair exam coordination on the end of the examiner. After the Supreme Court clearance, however, the results were declared and now the counselling round is underway.
