National Power Training Institute is accepting applications for Post Graduate Diploma Courses Common Entrance Test 2020. NPTI PGDC CET 2020 will be held on January 7, 2020 from 10:30 am to 12 noon. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online at npti.gov.in by the last date, December 23, 2019.
One year post graduate diploma courses for winter session 2020 admissions are being offered in power plant engineering, smart grid technologies, power system operation, renewable energy and grid interface technologies, energy market management. These courses aim at building a talent pool that have the required knowledge to develop an economically viable energy sector and energy efficient systems.
For all the five programs, the basic eligibility criteria for admission is to have a BE/B.Tech degree with 60% marks.
Candidates from mechanical, electrical, electrical and electronics, c and l, power engineering branches are eligible for power plant engineering. Similarly electrical, electrical and electronics, electronics and communication, c and l, computer science, information and communication technology, it candidates are eligible for smart grid technologies.
Those from electrical, electrical and electronics, c and l, power engineering can apply for power system operations. Then again electrical, electrical and electronics, c and l, mechanical, power candidates can apply for renewable energy and grid interface technologies. Electrical, electrical and electronics, ece, c and l, computer science, ict, it, mechanical, power engineering candidates can go for energy market management.
Those in the final year examination can also apply.
NPTI CET 2020 or the NPTI PGDC CET 2020 will be held on the scheduled date at the 7 NPTI centers in Faridabad, Nangal, Nagpur, Durgapur, Guwahati, Neyveli and Bengaluru. To apply for the exam, candidates need to go to npti.gov.in and fill the online form. Fee for this exam is Rs 2000.
Fee for the one year PG diploma courses is Rs 2,30,000 plus GST for non sponsored candidates. Those who have sponsorship from PSUs or private utilities, for them the fee is Rs 3,60,000 plus GST. course fee needs to paid in lump sum at the time of admission. For international candidates on the other hand, the fee is USD 20,000 plus GST. Lodging and boarding facility are also available. Also it may be noted that separate fee for security deposit, hostel fee, food charges, transport charges, and examination fee shall apply.
NPTI will declare the results of the common entrance test on January 15, 2020. Counselling will thereafter be performed on January 21, 2020. Candidates will need to then report for commencement of course on January 27, 2020. However even after that there will be one spot admission round for vacant seats, on February 3, 2020.
Regarding NPTI placements, the admission notice says “In order to provide career opportunities in the Indian Power Sector, NPTI maintains close linkages with the power industry to facilitate placements. In the past, several reputed companies/utilities visited NPTI for campus placements”.
