National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) released admit card today on 17 Oct 2018 for exam scheduled to be held on 28 Oct 2018 in pen-and-paper mode as well as computer-based-test mode.
That admit card is available has been intimated at nptel.ac.in and sign in page for the same is at nptelonlinecourses.iitm.ac.in. By visiting nptel.ac.in, candidates can know about exam cities for 28 Oct 2018 exam, status of 07 Oct 2018 exam, timelines and guidelines for exam. Candidates can download admit card online.
Upon reaching nptelonlinecourses.iitm.ac.in, candidates need to click the Google Plus sign in button following which they will be logged in and then they can download the NPTEL admit card for 28 Oct 2018 exam by clicking download tab under hall ticket. The alternate link to download it is https://cdn3.digialm.com//EForms/configuredHtml/885/57861/login.html.
NPTEL shall conduct the Certification exams on scheduled date at 127 cities in India. At Balasore, Burdwan, Dimapur, Tirunelveli, exam will be held only in forenoon session. In the remaining cities, exam will be in both sessions.
At nptel.ac.in, if candidates click the link ‘Click here to check the status of October 7,2018 Exam Results’, then they will land upon a google sheet containing latest status of result. It shows course ID, course name, institute, duration, score calculation logic, score published on (date), date before which any issue regarding scores are to be reported, date of availability of e-certificate, date before which issue related to e-certificates are to be reported, date on which certificate will be dispatched for candidates, and date on which certificate will be dispatched for local chapter candidates.
NPTEL conducted exam on 07 Oct 2018 and scores have been published for some courses that were held on that day. Candidates can check the status and if result is published they can check result at nptel.ac.in/noc/.
The certificate courses provided by NPTEL are AICTE approved. For the year 2018, the enrolment, hall ticket issuance, result declaration shall conclude in November. However for the upcoming session Jan-Apr 2019, enrolment shall open on 01 Dec 2018.
Around 270 courses in varied disciplines including Aerospace Engineering, Agriculture, Architecture and Planning, Biotechnology And Biosciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Cryogenic, Electrical Engineering, Humanities And Social Sciences, Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical And Materials Engg, Mining Engineering, Multidisciplinary, Ocean Engineering, Physics, Textile Engineering are offered.
NPTEL is an initiative of IITs and IISc to improve the quality of higher education in India. It is sponsored by the Government of India as a collaborative educational programme. There is no entrance exam or enrolment fee for the certificate courses provided by NPTEL.
The programme has over 300 million views on Youtube, clocking more than 40000 hours of views. Its channel has more than 1.3 million subscribers. In the words of NPTEL, the objective of online certification is,
‘The objective of enabling students obtain certicates for courses is to make students employable in the industry or pursue a suitable higher education programme. Through an online portal, 4, 8, or 12 week online courses, typically on topics relevant to students in all years of higher education along with basic core courses in sciences and humanities with exposure to relevant tools and technologies, are being o‑ered. The enrolment to and learning from these courses involves no cost. Following these online courses, an in-person, proctored certication exam is conducted across 100+ cities within India and a certicate is provided through the participating institutions and industry, when applicable.’
