Pareeksha Bhavan, Department of General Education, Govt of Kerala has declared Kerala NMMS Result 2021. Candidates can check their National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) result online via nmmse.kerala.gov.in. The exam for Kerala NMMS 2021 took place at different test centres on January 31, 2021. Qualifying students are now eligible for the scholarship to continue their further studies till Class 12th.
To check the NMMS result 2021 of Kerala, candidates first have to visit the official website, nmmse.kerala.gov.in. They will find the direct link to check the result under the ‘results’ tab. Navigate to the link and a login page appears on the screen. Enter the NMMS roll number and password to log in. The NMMS result 2021 then displays on the screen.
The NMMS 2021 Exam includes two Paper – MAT and SAT. As per the official notification, candidates have to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in both exams to qualify NMMS exam. However, the qualifying marks are relaxed for reserved category students. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe have to obtain a minimum of 32% marks in order to clear the exam.
Moreover, the National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme is a central-government approved and sponsored scheme. This scheme was introduced in the state of Kerala to encourage meritorious students of Class 8th to continue their studies. To help such students, Kerala State Government runs this scheme to provide financial aid to eligible, economically weaker section students and decrease the drop-out rate of the state.
Now that the result is out, meritorious students will get a scholarship worth Rs. 12,000/- per annum. Such candidates can now study up to Class XII with the scholarship money receive. However, this scholarship program is available only for the students of Government or aided schools of the Kerala Government. Students who are studying in residential schools or other adopted schools under the state government are ineligible to participate.
Students will receive the scholarship amount once they reach class IX. Thereafter, they have to perform and score the minimum aggregate scores to continue receiving the scholarship prize in upcoming years. Candidates have to obtain a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST) in the annual exam of 9th standard to receive the scholarship. Similarly, in order to get a scholarship for Class 11th, candidates have to obtain a minimum of 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ ST) in the 10th class. They have to secure a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks) in their 11th standard to get the scholarship for Class 12th.
