The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) published a notification in which it has stated that the question papers for DElEd examination for papers 506 and 507 was leaked in the State of West Bengal. The exam for Papers 506 (Understanding Children in an inclusive context), and 507 (Community & Elementary Education) was conducted on December 20, and 21, 2018.
This issue has been reported for investigation and the Institute has also informed the State government officials regarding this matter. It came to the notice of NIOS that the question papers were leaked much before the scheduled examination.
The reports of the paper leak have been reported in the state of West Bengal only for now.
With this confirmed that the paper was leaked. the NIOS has decided to cancel the examination for papers 506 and 507 and conduct a re-examination in West Bengal only.
This case of the paper leak may come as an eye opener for NIOS. The Institute had a cumulative enrollment of about 1.5 million students from the year 2004 to 2009 at secondary and senior secondary levels and enrolls about 350,000 students annually which makes it the largest open schooling system in the world.
The Institute has not yet announced the date for conducting the re-examination. However, the date for re-examination for NIOS DElEd will be announced soon at the official website, dled.nios.ac.in. One of the most important information is that the Institute has advised the candidates to be prepared for the examination at a notice of seven days.

The candidates who will appear for the NIOS DElEd re-examination shall be issued a new admit card. This information has not yet been clarified by the NIOS. It is advised to the candidates to visit the official website for any latest updates on this. However, it has been clarified that the candidates need not require to pay any additional fee for the rescheduled examination.
NIOS recently published the date sheet for DElEd 4th sem examination. The date sheet was published for papers 508 (Learning in Art, Health, Physical and Work Education at the Elementary level), 509 (Learning Social Science at Upper Primary Level), 510 (Learning Science at Upper Primary Level). The examination is going to be held on February 14, 2018 for paper 508, and on February 15, 2019 for papers 509/510.
Also, the exam fee submission has been started for those candidates who could not pass in DElEd semester examination, i.e. for Papers 501 to 505. The registration for the improvement exam started on December 22, 2018 and will end on January 10, 2019.
