NIOS DELED EXAMINATION

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) published a notification in which it has stated that the question papers for DElEd examination for papers 506 and 507 was leaked in the State of West Bengal. The exam for Papers 506 (Understanding Children in an inclusive context), and 507 (Community & Elementary Education) was conducted on December 20, and 21, 2018.

This issue has been reported for investigation and the Institute has also informed the State government officials regarding this matter. It came to the notice of NIOS that the question papers were leaked much before the scheduled examination.

The reports of the paper leak have been reported in the state of West Bengal only for now.

With this confirmed that the paper was leaked. the NIOS has decided to cancel the examination for papers 506 and 507 and conduct a re-examination in West Bengal only.

This case of the paper leak may come as an eye opener for NIOS. The Institute had a cumulative enrollment of about 1.5 million students from the year 2004 to 2009 at secondary and senior secondary levels and enrolls about 350,000 students annually which makes it the largest open schooling system in the world.

The Institute has not yet announced the date for conducting the re-examination. However, the date for re-examination for NIOS DElEd will be announced soon at the official website, dled.nios.ac.in. One of the most important information is that the Institute has advised the candidates to be prepared for the examination at a notice of seven days.

This case of paper leak may come as an eye opener for NIOS. It had a cumulative enrollment of about 1.5 million students from the year 2004 to 2009 at secondary and senior secondary levels and enrolls about 350,000 students annually which makes it the largest open schooling system in the world.

Hence, it is being not only the largest but the most popular open schooling system, NIOS should pay more attention on the method of conducting the exam.

The candidates who will appear for the NIOS DElEd re-examination shall be issued a new admit card. This information has not yet been clarified by the NIOS. It is advised to the candidates to visit the official website for any latest updates on this. However, it has been clarified that the candidates need not require to pay any additional fee for the rescheduled examination.

NIOS recently published the date sheet for DElEd 4th sem examination.
