National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) is inviting applications from eligible candidates to fill up vacancies for the posts of Scientist and Technical Officer on a contractual basis. The Institute under the Department of Biotechnology has published a detailed advertisement in this regard at the website niab.org.in. A total of 08 vacancies are available on a contractual basis. The last date of submission of applications via specified email address is December 08, 2020.
As per the advertisement, the vacancies are available for the posts of Senior, Junior Scientist and Technical officer. Candidates are to be appointed for a period of 1 year only. There is a single opening for the Senior Scientist position. However, there are three vacancies for Junior Scientist post and four for the post of Technical Officer. Selected candidates are to be paid monthly consolidated salary of Rs 1.9 lakhs for the post of Sr. Scientist, Rs 1 lakh for the post of Junior Scientist and Rs 60000 for the post of Technical Officer.
Applicants must be adequately qualified in order to apply for this recruitment. For the post of Sr. Scientist, candidates must have at least a PhD qualification in Life Sciences and 7 years or more of post qualification experience. For the post of Junior Scientist, similar educational qualification is also required. However, candidates can apply with 2 years of post qualification experience. For the post of Technical Officer, candidates need at least a M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences with 3 years or more of post qualification experience.
Selection of eligible applicants will be done by a Screening Committee. The decision of the Committee in terms of selection will be final and binding. Candidates may note that upon selection, they will be put on probation for initial period of 6 months. Although the recruitment is on a contractual basis, the contract period is likely to be increased.
