Union Public Service Commission is likely to release the result of the NDA I 2021 written exam in June 2021. The examination was recently concluded on April 18, 2021. As per the official notification, the result of the written examination is likely to be declared on upsc.gov.in in June 2021. Last year, the Commission conducted both sessions of the NDA exam on a single day. After that, the result of both sessions of the exam was declared after around 32 days on the same day.
NDA 2021 Result Expected Date
The UPSC conducting the NDA previous year exam on the same day is an exceptional event owing to the prevailing pandemic conditions at that time. Conventionally, the two sessions of the NDA exam are conducted on different dates. While the NDA I is usually conducted in April, the NDA II is conducted in September.
In 2019, the NDA I was conducted on April 21, 2019 while the results were declared on June 18, 2019 i.e. after 57 days. Whereas in the same year, the NDA II was conducted on November 17, 2019 while the results were declared on December 12, 2019 i.e. 25 days later. Based on the data available from the last few years of the NDA exam, it can be concluded that the UPSC thrives to publish the result of the written exam with a maximum period of two months or 60 days. However, as per the official notification of NDA 1 2021 available at upsc.gov.in, the NDA 1 2021 result is likely to be declared in the first week of June 2021.
NDA Past Year Cut Offs
The cut off marks are decided and announced by the Union Public Service Commission for the NDA exam after declaration of the results. Usually, a number of factors govern the cut off marks of the NDA and similar exams. These may include the number of vacancies available, the total number candidates taking the test, the level of difficulty of the exam etc.
In NDA I 2020, the minimum qualifying standard at the written stage out of 900 marks was 355 (with at least 25% marks in each subject). In this case, there were 418 vacancies available and 533 candidates were recommended. In NDA II 2019, the minimum qualifying standard at the written stage out of 900 marks was 346 (with at least 25% marks in each subject).
Before that, in NDA I 2019, the minimum qualifying standard at the written stage out of 900 marks was 342 (with at least 25% marks in each subject). A total of 447 candidates were recommended. Whereas in NDA II 2018, the minimum qualifying standard was 325 out of 900 marks in the written stage (with at least 25% marks in each subject).
Analysis of the past year cut-off trends of the NDA exam, it can be seen that the cut-off marks has progressively increased every year. Therefore, based on the previous year cut-off marks, it can be expected that the NDA I 2021 cut offs may be somewhere in the range of 356 to 365 out of 900 marks in the written exam.
