The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has started conducting the first term exams from December 2, 2021. Mathematics will be the third exam to be conducted in the series on December 4, 2021.
The syllabus for the first term exam has been revised and rationed to only 50% of the total syllabus. The total marks for the paper will be 40 only and another 10 marks will be added based on internal assessment. There will be 50 questions in total on the paper divided into three sections. The first two sections will have 20 questions each and students are to attempt 16 out of these. The last section will have 10 case studies and students have to opt for any 8 of them. All the questions will be MCQ (multiple-choice) and objective type.

However, all of this is not what the students have to be prepared with. The syllabus is restricted and the students need to concentrate on the following chapters only:-
- Real Number
- Polynomials
- Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables
- Coordinate geometry
- Triangles
- Introduction to Trigonometry
- Areas related to Circles
- Probability
The first term exams are ending on the 11th of December and the results for these exams are expected to be released in January. Post this, a second-term examination will also be conducted sometime in March/April. All updates regarding the announcement of results and the second term examination will be posted accordingly on the official website of CBSE. Students are advised to keep an eye out for these updates.
