Considering the worsening COVID-19 situation in the state, the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB), has decided to promote the class 11th students i.e. 1st PUC students without exams. However, the 2nd PUC has been postponed, and the dates for the same will be announced later. This decision was taken by Karnataka Education Minister S Suresh Kumar today, he also gave a statement that the teachers will now have to work from home only.
Earlier the Karnataka 1st PUC Exam was due to start from May 24 to June 16, 2021, but got canceled due to the constant surge of cases in the second wave. The practical examination for Karnataka 2nd PUC was also scheduled to be held from April 28, 2021, but has been postponed, keeping in mind the health and safety of the students. This decision came as a relief for students and parents, who were constantly requesting the officials to clear the air regarding the Karnataka 1st PUC exam.
Now that the, Karnataka 1st PUC Exam are cancelled, the result of the respective students will now be based on the internal assessment. Candidates should now prioritize their mental and physical wellbeing and take care of their family and friends during these testing time. They are also advised to wear double masks and carry the hardcopy of admit card along with the bottle of sanitizer as and when the new dates for the Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam be published. It is estimated that the new date sheet will only be out, as and when the Covid-19 curve is flattened.
Since, the students appearing for the Karnataka 1st PUC Exam, will now be promoted without exams, they can utilize this time to prepare for their higher studies and upcoming entrance examinations. The Karnataka 2nd PUC exams are held streamwise, as per past year statistics, more than 88.46% passed in Commerce stream, 94.18% in Science stream and 83.40% cleared the Arts stream.
