The face of taking exams has undergone a major transformation since the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the nation. Test from home or remote proctored exams or online exams has now become the revolutionary alternative for traditional exams. To maintain social distancing and contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, stay at home has become the new normal, and thus test from home / remote proctored exams / online exams are now an integral part of a student’s life and a necessity for the Institutions and many schools.
Also, on May 3, 2021, the Ministry of Education has requested all the centrally funded institutions to postpone the offline exams that are scheduled to take place in May 2021. For the Remote Proctored Home Based Tests candidates need laptop / desktop, mic, camera, and internet facility as basic requirements. Other requirements are specified by the conducting bodies well in advance. Here are 7 exams in India that are being held as test from home / remote proctored exam / online exams.
#1. ICSI CSEET May 2021 – The CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) will be held on May 8, 2021, only in remote proctored mode. CSEET is the first step towards becoming a Company Secretary. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has decided to hold the CSEET 2021 May session in remotely proctored mode only, due to the resurgence of the COVID-19 cases across the nation. However, it has also given the option to the registered candidates to opt-out of the remote proctored test, if they are not confident enough in this mode of test. Such candidates can join the July 2021 session without any repayment of the application fee.
#2. AIMA MAT 2021 – All India Management Association (AIMA) is holding Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 2021 in all 3 modes – Internet-based test (IBT), Computer-based test (CBT), and pen and paper-based test (PBT). The IBT exam will be held from May 30 to June 13, 2021. The candidates need a working computer or laptop with a webcam and mic, Operating system windows V-7 above and an Internet connection with 512 KBPS to be able to appear for the IBT mode of MAT May 2021. The PBT mode of MAT 2021 is scheduled for May 30, 2021, and the CBT exam is on June 13, 2021.
#3. AEEE 2021 – The first phase of the Amrita Entrance Examination for Engineering (AEEE) 2021 was already held from 17 to 18 April as a remote proctored exam. The second phase will be held from 11 to 14 June as a remote proctored and center-based exam (in selected cities). Candidates registering for the remote proctored test need a laptop or PC with a good internet connection, and webcam. The exam will be remotely proctored by university staff.
#4. BVP BMAT 2021 – Due to surge of the COVID pandemic, Bhartiya Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) will hold the BMAT entrance test for admission in MBA / MCA / MHA course as Remote Proctored Home-Based Test (online) mode only. The exam will be held on May 9, 2021. The varsity has added that no center-based entrance test will be held this year. However, the candidates who have registered for the 9th May entrance test and are unable to make necessary arrangements for the home-based entrance test, can appear for the BMAT entrance test scheduled on 13th June 2021. Given that, they have informed the University latest by 30th April 2021 through email to [email protected] To appear for the test candidates need internet connection and laptop / desktop.
#5. AIMS ATMA 2021 – The ATMA May exam is scheduled to be held on May 30, 2021. The exam will be held as an online AI and Live human proctored home-based exam. Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) conducts AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) multiple times in a year. This year all the exams are being held as online AI and Live human proctored home-based exam. For the exam candidates must arrange laptop with a webcam with good internet connection.
#6. LSAT India 2021 – Law School Admission Council (LSAC) has preponed the LSAT India exam 2021 to be held from June to May. This has been done because the June exams would have clashed with the postponed CBSE boards. The exam will be held from May 29, 2021, as an online remote-proctored test that candidates can give from the comfort of their homes. To appear for this exam, students must have Windows 8 professional edition or above Operating System, 2-4 GB and above RAM, Dual-Core / i3 or above processor, attached or Integrated Camera, internet with consistent speed, Up-date web browser (Chrome above 82.0 or above / Firefox version 68 or above), 15 GB or more free disk, and functional Audio-Video Microphone.
#7. GMAT 2021 – Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) holds GMAT. GMAT 2021 examination is organized multiple times in a year. There are no specific dates for the examination. Candidates must choose exam dates at the time of registration as per their choice. This year the exam is also being held as an online exam, which is a remote proctored version of the center-based GMAT exam. Candidates have the option to take the GMAT exam online or at a test center – or both.
#8. LPU NEST Phase 2 – Lovely Professional University (LPU) Punjab is conducting National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) for B.Tech, MBA, M.Tech, UG Design, UG Hotel Management, UG Law, Diploma, LET, and other UG, PG programs admissions. Phase 1 of the exam is over and the phase 2 exams are being held from April 25 and will be held till May 10, 2021, as Remotely Proctored Test only.
#9. Manipal Ph.D. Entrance Test 2021 – Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) will hold the All India PhD Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2021 as an Online Test (Remote Proctored)on June 5 and 6, 2021. The entire test will be live proctored by the faculty team of MAHE.
