The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) effectively concluded the ISC Class 12 Semester 1 Accounts exam 2021-22 today, December 20, 2021. Students had to appear in an offline pen and paper format from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm and were allotted 1 hour and 30 minutes to attempt the whole paper. This year ISC has updated its board exam system for the academic year 2021-22. Accordingly, the Semester 1 Accounts exam consisted of 30 objective-based multiple-choice questions and most of them were compulsory to attempt. These questions were based on the bifurcated syllabus released by the board earlier this year.
The accounts paper was conducted for 90 minutes and students had to submit their OMR sheets sharp at 3:30 pm. In addition to the time indicated in the timetable for attempting to paper, 10 minutes time was given to read the question paper. As per the reports, the question papers were distributed at 1:50 pm sharp. Soon after reading all the instructions carefully, OMR sheets were distributed at 1.30 am.
The exam question paper consisted of 30 questions for 80 marks. The question paper consisted of 3 main sections namely: A, B, and C. A total of 33 questions were asked in question A including the sub-parts for each question. Section A was made compulsory to solve for a total of 66 marks. Students had a choice to choose between Section B and C, but it was compulsory to solve all the questions from the chosen section. Both sections were composed of 7 questions(including the subpart of a few questions). According to the instructions printed on the question paper, every question and its sub-questions carried 2 marks. Questions from Q.no 11 to 14 in Section A of the paper were based on case studies. Section C was comparatively easier than all other sections, for students who had studied were familiar with DBMS/Excel previously.
As per the 2021-22 bifurcated syllabus, the ISC class 12 Accounts paper covered the following sections:
Section A

The unofficial answer keys for the ISC Class 12 Semester 1 Accounts exam will be released soon now that the exam is conducted. These answer keys are not approved by CISCE; the board will release the official version of the answer keys soon on the official website. Students can refer to it to get a rough estimate of their actual scores. Students willing to find the answers on their own can take the help of the above chapters from their respective Accounts textbooks. The questions asked in today’s examination were mostly theory-based questions with a few case study ones. However, all of them were centered around the ISC syllabus.
