As many as 23 people linked to this scandal have gotten arrested across the state of Uttar Pradesh. In light of this, a rumor is incessantly spreading among candidates claiming that the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2021 exam has been rescheduled to December 26, 2021. However, this rumour is just another false trail.
Initially, the state eligibility test was all set to be conducted November 28, 2021. However, the paper was leaked on whatsapp, and authorities are working round the clock to take the perpetrators into custody; insofar 23 people have been arrested due to an alleged test paper leak. In fact, the actual question paper was found with a few of those arrested. They belong to Meerut and Prayagraj cities of Uttar Pradesh.

Officials have also provided clarity on the same. Candidates will not have to wait for long as the exam will be held in a month’s time. However, an exact date is yet to be decided by the government.
Many news reports claiming December 26, 2021, to be the new date. – Fact or Fake?
At this moment, the story that UPTET 2021 new exam date is December 26, 2021, is false.
However, there are high chances that the new exam date will be December 26, 2021. This is because – the government has assured that the exam will be held in one month’s time > therefore the new exam date will be by December 28, 2021 > and December 26, 2021 is the last Sunday that falls by that date.
So the logic is that if the eligibility test is going to be held in a month’s time, the potential exam dates are December 26 to 30, 2021. However, as the 26th day falls on a Sunday, the rumor might just be true. But, authorities are yet to provide any clarity on the same. Hence, candidates are advised to neither fall for or spread these rumors. They are advised to keep track of the official website updeled.gov.in for any announcement in this regard.
As per official sources, around 12 lakh candidates were scheduled to appear for the state-level entrance exam. A cheating or paper leak scandal is never a good circumstance and will affect the credibility of the exam. Moreover, this will only disrupt the morale and preparation of candidates who have worked hard to clear this exam.
Under such circumstances, candidates are advised to continue their UPTET 2021 preparation and wait for the new exam date. Any extra preparation time is always a boon. A month’s time to study will definitely help boost their chances of clearing the eligibility test.
