INI CET

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi has postponed the conduct of the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) 2021. The exam was scheduled to be held on May 8, 2021, in online mode across the nation for admission to AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, and NIMHANS in MD, MS, DM (6 yrs), MCh (6 yrs), and MDS courses.

On April 15, 2021, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) deferred the NEET PG 2021 exam without any further notice. Likewise, the INI CET 2021 exam has been deferred by AIIMS without any new schedule.

The INI CET 2021 postponement notice reads:

“In view of evolving situation related to COVID-19 outbreak, the competent authority of AIIMS has decided to postpone the conduct of following entrance examination schedule in May 2021: INI CET PG JULY [MD/MS/DM (6yrs.)/M.Ch.(6yrs.)/MDS)] for July 2021 session, scheduled on 8th May, 2021 (Saturday).”

As remarks, the notice reads: ” The revised dates for conduct of the said examination will notified in due course of time through website aiimsexams.ac.in.”

The notice also adds: “Please visit the website http://www.aiimsexams.ac.in as all Important Notices / Corrigendum / Addendum / Updates etc. will only be uploaded on the website.”

INI CET 2021 Postponed

AIIMS has released the postponement notice on the same day when the Indian Medical Association (IMA) recently requested and advised the central government to fasten the process of conducting medical entrance exams in the country for postgraduate candidates.

Secretary-General of IMA, Jayesh M. Lele addressed this issue by stating that medical manpower is the need of the hour. Therefore, to fill the gap between increasing patient inflow and doctors, NEET PG and likewise, all medical exams must be held as soon as possible.

The registration process of INI CET is complete. The registered candidates were awaiting their admit card that was to be issued on April 30, 2021. However, unless the new exam dates are announced, the admit card is not expected to be available on April 30, 2021.

INI CET 2021 is held for admission in PG medical courses offered by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), and National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS). These are the medical institutes of the nation, that have received the status of INI (Institute of National Importance) by the Parliament of India. They get special recognition and funding from the Government.

INI CET is an online exam. The total time of the exam is 3 hours. There will be 200 questions and there will be objective types of questions of varying types (including Single Correct Choice and Multiple Correct Choice questions).
