Indian Army is inviting online applications for the 132nd Technical Graduate Course (TGC). The course commences from January 2021. The official notification for the same is published recently on joinindianarmy.nic.in. Overall 40 vacancies are announced for various Engineering Streams. Aspirants who are shortlisted under TGC have to undergo training at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun before joining Indian Army. Engineer graduates can submit their applications from July 28, 2020, onwards. The application window closes on August 26, 2020.
Only unmarried, male candidates can submit their applications for TGC. Candidates who have an Engineering degree or are in their final year of engineering can submit their applications. Those who are in the final year of Engineering have to produce pass certificate/proof of passing by January 01, 2021. They also have to produce Engineering degree within 12 weeks from the commencing date of the training. Moreover, they must complete 20 years as on January 01, 2021. Their age must not exceed that of 27 years.
Applications are invited only through Indian Army website, joinindianarmy.nic.in. Candidates have to click on “Officer Entry Apply/Login” and to get the ‘Registration’ link. After successful registration, tap on the ‘apply online’ button and start filling up the form. Once done, go through the ‘Summary of your information’ and check and edit the incorrect details. Candidates have to take at least 02 print out of the application form after the last date of form submission.
The shortlisting of candidates is done through the three stages which involve the shortlisting of applications, interview round and medical examination. Based on their eligibility, candidates are shortlisted to appear for Stage 2 which is interview round. Shortlisted candidates are informed about the centre of allocations via their email. SSB interviews are conducted for 05 days. In this round, they have to carry all the original documents in support of their educational qualification, date of birth proof, and other documents. The interview round is followed by medical examination. Information regarding the medical examination and its procedure is available on joinindianarmy.nic.in.
Selected candidates have to undergo a training session at IMA, Dehradun. Indian Army organizes the training session for 49 weeks. During this period they are not allowed to get married or allowed to live with their parents or guardians. They are not allowed to get married before their full training at IMA is over. This entire cost of training for TGC is at Government expense. The final allocations of candidates to Arms/Services are done a few days before the completion of Gentleman Cadet from IMA centre. Candidates can not object/appeal against their final selection on the allotment to Arms/Services.
