Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) is inviting applications for recruitment into the post of Laboratory Technicians. A detailed recruitment notification is published in this regard at the official website of the Corporation i.e. suratmunicipal.gov.in. Eligible and interested candidates can forward their applications before the last date. The last date of receipt of applications is August 10, 2020.
As per the detailed recruitment notification, the vacancies are available on a contractual basis in the Schmeier Medical College and Hospital. The hospital is run by the Corporation and the vacancies are to be filled up to deal with the current COVID-19 situations. Selected candidates are to be appointed for a contractual period of 03 months in the advertised 100 vacancies. However, applicants must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as specified in the official notification for recruitment to the vacant positions.
The Corporation has specified the minimum eligibility conditions in terms of the age limitations and the requisite minimum educational qualifications. The age of the applicants cannot be more than 58 years. In addition, applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in the subjects of Chemistry of Microbiology in order to apply for the recruitment. Candidates who have a Master’s degree in Science (M.Sc.) in the field of Organic Chemistry or Microbiology are also eligible to apply. However, all applicants must have passed the training course of Laboratory Technician from a recognized institute. The final selection list is to be prepared from the list of eligible applicants and appointed candidates are entitled to receive a monthly fixed salary of Rs 18000 during the period of appointment. However, such candidates are not entitled to receive any other benefits or allowances for their services during the contractual employment.
The application process is conducted offline and applicants are required to forward their applications so as to reach the authorities on or before the specified last date. Applications must be filled up completely with the necessary information of name, age, educational qualifications, and experience. In addition, necessary documents in the form of self-attested copies of the original must also be submitted along with the applications. Candidates must also paste recent passport size photograph on the application form and duly sign the application form before sending. All applications must be sent to Room No. 114, Central Establishment (Recruitment) Department, Surat Municipal Corporation Head Office. Applications received after the last date are not accepted and candidates are directed to bring the original documents for verification during later stages.
