Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, has released GATE 2019 Answer Key for all 24 subject papers, on February 19, 2019. The answer key has been released as pdf, on gate.iitm.ac.in. With it, the question paper for GATE is also available. Candidates who appeared for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering-2019 on February 2, 3, 9, 10, 2019, can now download answer key and question paper to match answers and calculate the raw score.
To download GATE 2019 answer key, go to the official website and there check for “To view GATE 2019 Question Papers and Answer Keys Click here” link. It will direct candidates to a new page, where all the question papers and answer keys of GATE 2019 will be given. Click on the appropriate link for the respective subject paper and download it.
The question paper only contains the questions asked in the examination, whereas, in the answer key the question number, type of question, section, key / range, and marks are given. For now, there is no official notice for submitting the objections. However, as per the information brochure, IIT-M will start objection facility. The details regarding it shall be announced in due course of time.
IIT Madras, also released GATE 2019 response sheet on February 07, 2019. It was released at GOAPS and candidates can use it with the question paper and key to cross-check correct and incorrect answers. Candidates can also use the resources to calculate marks, as per the marking scheme.
In GATE 2019, there were two types of questions, MCQ and Numerical Answer Types. Both types of questions were for 1 and 2 marks. Against incorrect answer for 1 marks MCQ question, negative marking of 1/3 marks will be done. Whereas, for 2 marks MCQ question, negative marking of 2/3 marks shall be applicable. There will no negative marking for incorrect NAT question.
The actual result of GATE 2019 will release on March 16, 2019. It will be available online, at GOAPS. Candidates will be able to check it by entering enrollment number and password. Candidate’s scores out of 100, qualifying marks for GATE paper, and All India Rank will be disclosed via it.
The candidates who qualify the exam, by scoring more than the cut off marks get a scorecard of GATE. The scorecard will release on March 20 and candidates will be able to download it until May 31, 2019. It will also be available at GOAPS and will be valid for 3 years, from the date of issuance.
After the announcement of the result, IITs will hold individual counselling for admission. Candidates will have to apply separately for individual IIT. However, the seat allocation for NITs will be done through Centralized Counselling for M.Tech. Various PSU shall also consider GATE score for recruitment.
