Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) had earlier announced that the syllabus for semester 2 of the 2022 batch will be shortened. Shortening of the syllabus had been attributed to the current COVID 19 pandemic situation across the country. Due to the pandemic, many areas within India were under lockdown and strict quarantine regulations, affecting academic activities. This led to inadequate time for proper covering of portions. Both students and teachers had raised their concerns regarding the situation. And as a result, the syllabus was shortened in 2021. But at first, the shortening of the syllabus was done only for English and Indian language papers. However, the official website of CISCE at cisce.org has released the shortened syllabus for other subjects as well.
In observance of the changes in the exam pattern, the semester 1 exam was conducted in November-December 2021. From April 26, semester 2 have been commenced and tomorrow, i.e. April 28, the History and Civics paper for class 10 will be conducted.
