The Indian Council for Forestry Research & Education (ICFRE) has published an official recruitment notification at the website icfre.org. 05 vacancies are advertised for the posts of Storekeeper, Forest Guard, Technician (Maintenance) and Driver (Ordinary Grade). Eligible and interested candidates are invited to apply for the recruitment in the prescribed proforma appended with the notification. The selection will be done through an initial written exam and subsequent trade tests depending upon the respective posts. The last date of receipt of applications is October 30, 2020. However, candidates domiciled in Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands can send applications till November 16, 2020.
One vacancy is available for each of the posts of Storekeeper, Forest Guard and Driver. Additionally, two vacancies are available for the post of Technician viz. Electrician and Plumber. Interested candidates can check the detailed vacancy bifurcation from the official notice. Storekeepers are to be appointed at Level 3 (Rs 21700-69100). Forest Guards, Technicians and Drivers are to be appointed at Level 2 (Rs 19900-63200). The written exam is to be conducted at Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat, Forest Research Center for Bamboo & Rattan, Aizwal and Forest Research Center for Livelihood Extension, Agartala.
Candidates are advised to refer to the official notification and ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility conditions before applying for the recruitment. Simple 12th pass candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Storekeeper. They must be within the age of 18 to 27 years. Candidates who have passed Class 12 with Science can apply for the Forest Guard post. They must be within 18 to 27 years of age and are required to complete Forestry Training Course during the probation period. Class 10th pass candidates holding a relevant ITI trade certificate are eligible to apply for the post of Technician. The permissible age range is 18 to 30 years. For the post of Driver, candidates who have passed Class 10th and possessing a valid driver’s license can apply. Such applicants must be within 18 to 27 years of age and possess at least 03 years of motor car driving experience.
For the post of Storekeeper and Forest Guard, the written exam will consist of 100 MCQ questions based on English, Numerical Aptitude, Mental Ability & Reasoning and General Awareness. For the post of Technician, the paper of the written exam will consist of 100 MCQ type questions of the 10th Class level. The exam will be based on English, Mental Ability & Reasoning, Arithmetic and Basic Science. Candidates have to pass a trade test in the corresponding Technician trade for final selection. For the post of driver, the question paper will consist of 100 MCQ type questions based on English, Numerical Aptitude, Mental Ability & Reasoning and General Awareness. Such candidates will also have to undergo a trade test for selection to the post of Driver.
Only such applicants recommended by the screening committee will be called for the written exam. An application fee of Rs 300 must be deposited to the Savings Bank Account Number 393102010003153 (IFSC: UBIN0539317) with Union Bank of India, Jorhat Branch in favor of the Director, Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat. PWD and women candidates are however exempted from the payment of any fees. The proof of payment of fees must be attached with the application form.
