The Assam Public Service Commission is inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens to fill up numerous vacancies for the post of Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer. 637 vacancies are advertised in all. APSC has published an official recruitment notification in this regard at their website i.e. apsc.nic.in. Eligible and interested Indian candidates are invited to apply for recruitment to the aforementioned posts. The application form can be found at the website. There are 182 vacancies in all for the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) under the Irrigation Department, Assam. For the post of Junior Engineer (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical), under the Irrigation Department, Assam, 368 vacancies are available. In addition, 87 more vacancies are also available for the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) under the Public Health Engineering Department, Assam. Candidates can check the vacancy bifurcation tables for each post as per category and engineering trades from the official recruitment notification. Assistant Engineer (Irrigation & PHE Department) are entitled to be compensated at the Pay Band 4 (Rs 30000 – 1,10,000) with Grade pay of Rs 12700 and other allowances. Junior Engineer (Irrigation)are entitled to be compensated as per Pay Band 2 (Rs 14000 – 60500) with Grade Pay of Rs 8700 and other allowances.
Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility conditions as specified for individual posts before applying for the recruitment. Only permanent residents of Assam are eligible to apply for the recruitment. Candidates must have PRC issued in Assam for educational purpose as a proof of residency. For the post of Assistant Engineer, applicants must have a degree in the respective engineering branch. In addition, such applicants must be at least 21 years of age and not more than 38 years of age as on January 01, 2020. Those who are applying for the post of Assistant Engineer in the PHE Department must have proficiency in one official language of Assam other than English. For the post of Junior Engineer, the applicants must have completed 3 years diploma in corresponding engineering branch from a SCTE recognized institute. The age range of such applicants must be between 18 to 38 years as on the aforementioned cut off date for determination of age.
Applications in the prescribed proforma must be completed and signed by the applicants before sending them to Deputy Secretary, APSC, Jawaharnagar, Khanapara, Guwahati-781022. Along with the applications, necessary supporting documents must also be enclosed and the post name superscribed on the envelope. An application fee of Rs 250 (General/EWS) must be paid through Treasury Challan in the Head of Account. The copy of the receipt obtained after fee payment must be enclosed with the applications. SC/ST, OBC and MOBC candidates have to pay Rs 150 as application fee. BPL candidates are exempted from the payment of any fee.
