Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi is inviting applications to fill up 05 vacancies through an online interview. The vacancies are for the posts of Senior Research Fellow and Field Assistant in different ICAR funded projects. Therefore, all the vacancies are to be filled up on contractual basis. ICAR has published a detailed recruitment notification in this regard at the official website i.e. iari.res.in. Eligible and interested candidates are invited to submit their applications in the prescribed proforma on or before September 08, 2020, till 05.00 PM.
One vacancy each is available for the posts of Senior Research Fellow (Rice, Maize, Chick Pea) in the project titled Application of Next Generation Breeding, Genotyping and Digitalization Approaches for Improving the Genetic Gain in Indian Staple Crops. One vacancy is also available for the post of Senior Research Fellow (Chick Pea) in the project titled Incentivizing Research in Agriculture-Component IV- Chick Pea. In addition, one vacancy is also available for the post of Field Assistant (Rice) in the project titled Application of Next Generation Breeding, Genotyping, and Digitalization Approaches for Improving the Genetic Gain in Indian Staple Crops. All the vacancies at Indian Agricultural Research Institute are to be filled up on a contractual basis initially up to March 31, 2021. However, the tenure can be extended periodically depending on the performance of the appointed candidate until the project continues.
Candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility conditions before applying for the recruitment. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Seed Science/Plant Biotechnology/Life Sciences with specialization in plant sciences in order to apply for the post of SRF (Rice). In addition, such applicants must also have a 4 years Bachelor’s degree or 3 years Bachelor’s degree along with UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification. Candidates applying for the post of SRF (Maize) must have a Master’s degree in Agriculture with specialization in Genetics/Plant Breeding and associated fields. Candidates with M.Tech in the aforementioned disciplines or PhD in Life Sciences are also eligible to apply for the post. 12th pass candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Field Assistant. The maximum permissible age to apply for the recruitment is 35 years. Candidates are encouraged to refer to the notification carefully before applying for the recruitment.

Candidates must also attach scanned copies of supporting documents along with the applications. After preliminary screening, the Institute will shortlist 20 eligible applicants who are to be called for the online interview. The details of the interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates.
